Inclusion of Danganronpa's Atua
editI have issue with the statement In modern contemporary culture, Atua is best recognised to most westerners as the god that is worshipped by the character Angie Yonaga in the game Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. The original editor simply cited google search results, as per: Most people in the west solely associate the concept of "Atua" with the character. 99% of google image results for "Atua" on google are from Danganronpa. which is likely a violation of WP:NORN, and the articles cited are simply coverage of the game's release and only mention the Atua in hindsight. Along with this, the Atua mentioned by Yonaga within the Japanese source material is referred to as "the God" (神さま) rather than any specific deity. It was only referred to as the Atua during localization, and Yonaga's ethnicity within the source material is left ambiguous, furthering my concerns. --Ornithoptera (talk) 22:32, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- I know the above is in regards to a debate about this inclusion from the past, but regarding the more recent edits, there is no one source that directly states "Atua is often associated only with a Danganronpa character because westerners are ignorant swine who don't know their culture", but exceptions should be made for such a common sense occurrence as this. Excluding my personal experiences (which indicate that most people who play Danganronpa think the writers invented the concept of Atua and don't know it's a thing until they play DRV3), it seems entirely nonsensical to not include a mention of this, given that when you google image search "Atua" images of the Danganronpa character take over the entire screen. IMO, Wikipedia should allow these kinds of trivial inclusions to be sourced via image screenshots (as in, I can source "Angie's character is largely associated with Atua" via a screenshot of an "Atua" google image search), or some such, because this not being able to be included due to a lack of a direct source that outright says the assertion feels like a violation of common sense. --2A02:C7C:72DA:B300:7169:504C:9C4A:C10C (talk) 17:57, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
