Doctor
editThe BBC calls him Dr Gusenbauer but none of the biographies I have seen credit him with a doctoral degree - does anyone know about this? Adam 03:54, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
It is Dr Alfred Gusenbauer, as can be seen on his homepage http://www.alfred-gusenbauer.at/
From which university and in what discipline does he hold a doctoral degree? Adam 22:18, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Both his website and the German Wiki credit him with a doctoral degree in Political Science from the University of Vienna. autocratique ∞ talk 09:49, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Danke. Adam 09:52, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
And neither his personal website or Wikipedia are reliable sources. The BBC is, however... --kingboyk 20:29, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
What about the homepage of the Austrian government? Would you consider that a reliable source??? www.austria.gv.at —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.89.102.194 (talk) 11:18, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Roman Catholic
editWhere we know from that Gusenbauer is a Roman Catholic?FilippoBruno 23:24, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
That´s a good question. Many of the european socialists politicians don´t have a religion, and it will be interesting if someone showed a proof of his religious beliefs, whatever they are. User:Mistico20:32, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- well over 90% of austians are catholic —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.164.206.10 (talk) 17:28, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- No. In 2001, in Austria 73.7%, and in Vienna less than 50%.-Nikai (talk) 11:00, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Gusenbauer was the first practising catholic to head the social democrats. That's well known in Austria, but if you need an actual source, take p.e. the recent edition of "Kirche intern", where he talks about that and how he was an Altar boy for 9 years in his youth. 62.47.43.242 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 11:28, 18 January 2009 (UTC).
- I would indeed like to see an appropriate citation. What I can find in the media is either contradictory (quote: Der Katholik und ehemalige Chorjunge, der sich mittlerweile von der Kirche distanzierte[1]), or doesn't give a conclusive answer whether or not he pays church tax (quote: Ich würde mich eher zu den gläubigen Menschen zählen.[2]).-Nikai (talk) 11:00, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
