- FYI: NASA Photo : "STS085-713-070 Akimiski Island, Northwest Territory, Canada August 1997 Akimiski Island, a 2000-square-mile (5180 square kilometers) uninhabited island, is the largest island in James Bay (a southeasterly extension of Hudson Bay)." --CyclePat 06:37, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
- I might be two years too late, but perhaps for the sake of those who may stumble across this in future, I'll mention that NASA was in fact correct in 1997; but as of April 1, 1999 when Nunavut came into existence, Akimiski became part of that new territory. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 02:58, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
