On the linking issue:
I was copy editing the article and removed a lot of duplicate wikilinks. I'm fairly new to editing on Wikipedia so I'm not sure exactly how to fix the issue, but there is a lot of inconsistency in what words/phrases are made into links and where those links go.
e.g.:
- Country names sometimes link to the country, sometimes to an article on the history of same-sex marriage rights in that country.
- The parliament/court/governing body of a country is sometimes linked to an article on that body, sometimes not.
On the detail issue:
Some items in the list contain too much information about an event.
e.g.:
- Exact numbers of votes on decisions for bills or court cases are sometimes included, is this necessary?
- Exact reasoning is sometimes included for decisions made and this leads to run-on sentences.
It's me again. I did some clicking around and research about how the process for editing an article and raising concerns works so I added a notice about the overlinking issue. I decided to go ahead and do it before receiving a response here for two main reasons.
First, it was a major readability issue as I was editing. I think this means it clearly qualifies as overlinking, even by the standards in Template:Overlinked. Second, this article doesn't have a lot of attention. I doubt anything will come of either of these talk posts in a reasonable amount of time and this will resolve the (rather extensive) issue a lot faster. Wispiee (talk) 02:44, 11 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
