Submission declined on 4 October 2023 by Robert McClenon (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Declined by Robert McClenon 13 months ago. |
- Comment: This page has too many redlinks. Occasional red links may be used as suggestions that the topics enclosed in brackets are notable topics for which articles are in order. However, multiple red links are distracting, and tend to indicate sloppy drafting. If drafts for the red links are in process, please note them in a comment or on the talk page. Otherwise, review the red links, which may be converted to plain text by removing the brackets or resolved by correcting spelling errors or introducing appropriate redirects, before resubmitting.Advice about links may be requested at the Teahouse. This draft, as written, does not appear to indicate that one of the biographical notability criteria is satisfied. If one of the criteria is satisfied, please revise this draft appropriately, with a reliable source, if necessary stating on the talk page or in AFC comments which criterion is met, and resubmit. It is the responsibility of the submitter to show that a subject satisfies a notability criterion. You may ask for advice about the biographical notability criteria at the Teahouse. In particular, see and refer to WP:GNG for notability, which is the guideline that the subject should be evaluated against. Sidney Lee |
---|
Sidney Lee, dubbed Søren Adam Trier, later name change to Sidney Hassel Hansen.[1] (born January 25 1979 in Copenhagen, died 16 May 2022 smst.) was a Danish television personality who appeared in a large number of programs.
Sidney Lee had the Danish record for the most actors in reality-shows[2] and was described as a "cult figure in the Danish media image".[2]
Since his debut in 2007 in the DR2 program Blod, Sved og Springskaller he appeared in at least 50 TV programs.[3] He became especially known for his distinctive style, where he often wore bandana and denim and talked about his fondness for [[USA] ].[4]
Career
editHe participated in the Copenhagen eSport Challenge 2009 where he challenged anyone who would play against him in games such as Tekken and Mortal Kombat. He was also scheduled to compete against two wrestlers in the game WWE: Smackdown vs. RAW.[5] In humorous response, a group of young game developers at the event developed a game where you played Sidney Lee and had to escape from Tivoli while being chased by angry gamers .[6][7][8]
Most recently, in November 2010, he was interviewed for the portrait book My Reality, which was published on 15 November 2010. The book has Maria Lyngsø Hougaard as ghostwriter.[9]
In 2010, Sidney Lee was drawn as a character in Donald Duck. Donald Duck and his nephews were to visit Denmark, and the people behind the story were looking for the three most famous people in Denmark, whom all Danes knew and could recognize immediately, and here Sidney was chosen, and drawn as the character Slibri Lee, and is thus part of the Andeby universe, an honor that, in addition to Sidney, only three other Danes have received, namely the prime minister, the queen and Caroline Wozniacki.[10]
Since 2011, Lee has annually produced the radio program Genialos on Radio24syv with theoretical physicist and professor Holger Bech Nielsen.
In 2015, Sidney Lee co-hosted the Reality Awards with Anne Kejser.
Use as an April Fool's joke
editGo' morgen Danmark on TV 2 on 1 April 2011 used Sidney as an April Fool.
The story read: In reality, Sidney Lee is a fictional person played by Michael Brødsgaard. Michael Brødsgaard is a psychologystudent at Aalborg University, and together with his friends they decided to create a character to become a TV personality in Denmark. After six years, this was now revealed on TV2's Go' Morgen Danmark. His mother was unbelievably happy when she got her son back as he was before he started this hoax.[11]
Already on January 26, the news satirical website RokokoPosten had a similar article, however, in which Sidney Lee was presented as a master's student at Stanford University.[12]
In 2019, Sidney Lee appeared on the song Waffler by Albert Dyrlund (feat. Jesu Brødre and Sidney Lee).
