Plot
editThree years after the death of Yam on summer of 1972, in October 1975 Yak still relentlessly hunts the black spirit who killed his sister. Despite his family's efforts to convince him to stop seeking revenge on the black spirit, Yak remains stubborn, determined to track it down, fearing that the ghost will return to harm the remaining members of his family.
Yak follows the mysterious death of a newborn, discovered in a newspaper article, and finds clues leading him to the fact that the black spirit is being controlled by a powerful shaman named Puang, who fled to hide in the Dong Khomot, a forest filled with mystical and harmful supernatural beings. Yak must confront malevolent spirits and dangers around him in order to defeat the ghost spirit, ensuring it never returns to harm his family again.
Meanwhile, Yad is about to marry Pradit, and the family is preparing for their wedding, hoping that Yak will return to attend the ceremony and reunite with everyone. Little do they know, the ghost spirit is about to return, bringing terror to Yak's family once again. Forcing them to come out and deal with this dire situation again.
When they arrived at the hotel for the wedding, the electricity in the hotel suddenly went out for no reason, which was a sign that the Black-Shirt Ghost would return again. While the mother, Yad and Yee were walking hugging each other on the upper floor of the hotel in fear, suddenly there was the sound of tiles breaking at intervals. The mother was possessed by the Black-Shirt Ghost. The mother was in the fire exit and chased after Yee. The mother brought a pickaxe, wanting to kill her daughter. Yee quickly ran and hid at the table with a picture of a house on Christmas. Yee quickly threw her shoes to another room, making her mother think that she was playing hide and seek. Suddenly, a Black-Shirt Ghost hid behind her. She was shocked and ran away. Suddenly, a man came in and tried to hurt him. He brought scissors, hoping to stab her. And one of them hit her head with a Buddha statue until she passed out. After she was pushed by the Black-Shirt Ghost, suddenly, Jae met Yaem, who had died three years ago. Yaem wanted to take Jae's bottom, but Jae refused. Jae was pulled by the ghost in black, but the Black-Shirt Ghost did not know that the Yak was dead. Yak used a knife to cut off the tongue of the Black-Shirt Ghost and took a hard object from Doctor Saem and stuck it into the Black-Shirt Ghost's head until it screaming of pain and disappeared. Yak's family and his little sister hug Yak with joy. He happened to see the spirit of Yaem who was standing and watching with joy, and Yaem disappeared.

Production and release
editAlthough the first installment, at the end, seemed to hint that there would be a sequel, but the production crew had not started on the sequel of Death Whisperer until the first part was a great success at the end of 2023, and the novel Tee Yod... The Ends of a Mad Groan was released shortly after Death Whisperer was released.
On February 15, 2024, the creators, directors, crew and actors, came together to sacrifice the film before filming began at Channel 3 Studio, Nong Khaem.[3][6]
Then on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Channel 3 and M Studio held a press conference on business cooperation in the creation of two movies set to be released this year: Death Whisperer 2, which is scheduled to be released during end of the year is on October 10, 2024,[7] and Manaman starring Naphat Siangsomboon, which is scheduled to be released in August.[4]
A 35-second teaser was released on YouTube on July 3, 2024, expected that it will be quite different from the novel version.[8][9] The official teaser was released on August 8, 2024.[10]
The official trailer was released on September 12, 2024.[11]
A gala premiere was held on October 8, 2024, two days before the nationwide screening, at Suralai Hall, 7th floor, Iconsiam.
After 7 days of release, the film has grossed ฿450 million nationwide[12] On the first day of its release, the film earned ฿80 million nationwide, making it the highest-grossing Thai film in history on its first day of release. After 9 days, it has already generated over ฿550 million in nationwide revenue.[13] and grossed ฿172.89 million in combined receipts in Metropolitan Bangkok and Chiang Mai alone, becoming the highest-grossing domestic film of the year and fourth-highest grossing domestic film of all time.[14]
In Vietnam, Death Whisperer 2 was released on October 18, 2024, setting a record for the highest advance booking with a total of over 30,000 tickets sold, and also grossed ฿13 million on its first day, the highest record among all Thai films released there.[13]
The film is inspired by Sam Raimi's Evil Dead franchise, just like the precursor. However, Death Whisperer 2 is quite different from Death Whisperer. It has many action scenes and is so continuous that it can be classified as an action horror film. This was the idea of Nadech Kugimiya, the leading actor himself during the script meeting between the production crew and the cast, where Nadech himself mentioned that he wanted to play an action film.
One of the characters that everyone talked about when it was over was Sem, who is known as the necromancer of Laplae. He made a grand debut but died so easily. Sem is performed by Somjai Janmoontree, a top-notch stuntman in Thailand who has starred in many films and television dramas. He is the first generation student of the late legendary martial arts actor Panna Rittikrai. While the character of Khom, a northern-speaking porter, is starred by Hernfa Lannathai, a Lanna folk singer and comedian.
The king cobra, the tutelary of the forest who did not allow Yak's party to enter the depths of the Dong Khamot, was a real snake. The scenes in Dong Khamot was filmed in a real forest, so filming team had to use the day for night technique because of the limited time. The scene where Puang emerges from the swamp was filmed at Rayong Botanical Garden, Klaeng district, Rayong province. The scene where Yee is possessed by the black spirit and pulls out her own tooth, that is actually the tooth of Natcha Nina Jessica Padowan, the young actress who plays Yee. Because at that time, her baby tooth was about to fall out. The blood that appeared in the scene was real blood.
Novel
editDeath Whisperer 2 is loosely based on the novel Tee Yod... The Ends of a Mad Groan by Krittanon,[15] the sequel of Tee Yod... Heard a Mad Groan by the same author.
