I suggest that the term 'regionalist' is itself POV. The members of these groups often consider them to be nations/countries, not regions. --MacRusgail 15:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- This is the standard terminology in political science (sometimes "ethnoregionalism" is also used, but that term would exclude regionalist movements without a clear ethnic basis, such as the Castilian, Extremaduran, and Madrid regionalists in Spain). "Regionalism" is commonly treated as a species of minority "nationalism"; use of the term doesn't deny that these territories can be considered "nations," but it does distinguish between minority nationalisms based on territorial autonomy within the existing state and those that seek autonomy, of varying degrees, from the existing state. Movements that do seek broader autonomy or independence belong in the "Secessionist organizations" and/or "Independentist parties" categories.--Jsorens 16:29, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
