WikiCup?
editHi, I think the dramaout is something that could have a lot in common with the WikiCup. Could WikiCup submissions pages be added to the exempt list, meaning that WikiCup participants could take part without shooting themselves in the foot? If this sounds ironic, please consider the fact that the WikiCup exists only to add a little fun and motivation to article building- it is only through writing high-quality articles that you can progress. - Anything done for Wikicup is perfectly Kosher for this project, as far as I am concerned. I think that anything you work on at Wikicup is primarily about improving content (articles, pictures, etc.) so as long as you do that, and are just submitting your DYKs and featured content to Wikicup for scoring, there should be no issue... --Jayron32 03:48, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
- Great, I'll see what I can do about mentioning it in our newsletters closer to the time. J Milburn (talk) 13:43, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm
editWas this latest date chosen to avoid Community de-Adminship I wonder? (guaranteed drama, but needed all the same)? This potentially drama reducing poll ends soon if you feel like a quick puff. Matt Lewis (talk) 12:31, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Reference desks and village pumps?
editThese are very important areas of Wikipedia, and do not create "drama" in their own right. The reference desks are a place where users can gain knowledge or help other editors contribute information to the encyclopedia, while the village pump is important for discussing community issues. This would be like telling contributers not to use the help desk, and any questions and requests there would be ignored, just as this Dramaout is proposing to do to the reference desks and village pump, leaving requests unanswered. Having the Dramaout include these areas reduces the overall productivity of Wikipedia's function in distributing knowledge and helping solve technical issues. Although I am not an official participant in this, I will still take more time to improve the article space, but will refuse to not participate in all projectspace areas of Wikipedia. ~AH1(TCU) 21:04, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
4th?
editI feel like there's been more drama of late, so perhaps in late November or early-mid December we could have another one of these. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 19:22, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- Considering the low number of participants (currently 2), perhaps another one should be scheduled for later in the year and widely publicicized. -- Trevj (talk) 14:15, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- The dramaout is supposedly currently in effect, but only three users signed up for it. Snowolf How can I help? 21:12, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
Emergency and oversight
editYou probably also want to also exempt reports to oversight and emergency. No editor with sense is going to avoid reporting a presidential death threat, etc. due to a dramaout, but sadly not every editor has sense. --NellieBly (talk) 10:24, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
