Purpose and contents of page
editI was interested to see a link to this page be added to the DYK reviewing guide, but so disappointed with the contents that I removed the link there.
In my view, the page either overly simplifies what is required to give the various symbols or is incorrect about the distinctions. For example, if the article is too short, I don't see how that should ever be a "?" icon; it just isn't minor. The descriptions "hook quabbles" and "article moans" are not only unhelpful, but not truly valid distinctions; hook issues are usually deserving of the "/" icon.
For the present, while I regret having to say so, the page is very much a flawed work, and inaccurate enough that it should not be referenced as yet. I'm placing an "under construction" template on it to indicate that it is not currently ready to use, and will be doing some editing to it over the next days to improve its accuracy. - I should point out I wrote this in about half an hour in pure frustration of being handed an X for, as far as I can see, omitting a single word from the hook at Template:Did you know nominations/Cowpuncher's Cantata. It does my head in when people misuse the symbols, it really does.--Launchballer 08:42, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
