Welcome to the Arizona State Routes Task Force of WikiProject U.S. Roads!

Recognized content
editThis is a list of recognized content, updated weekly by JL-Bot (talk · contribs) (typically on Saturdays). There is no need to edit the list yourself. If an article is missing from the list, make sure it is tagged or categorized (e.g. Category:Arizona road transport articles) correctly and wait for the next update. See WP:RECOG for configuration options. |

Length
editStructure and standards
editArticles should follow WP:USRD/STDS.
Naming convention
editArticles should be titled "Arizona State Route X" per WP:USSH.
Shields
editThe various shield graphics are located in Category:Arizona highway shields on Commons. {{jct}} can create the various links to highway articles with the appropriate shield graphics for use in the infobox or junction lists. There are a number of historical shield designs that can be used where appropriate. For state routes, 1927, pre-1956 (which began use around 1947), 1956, 1960, 1963, 1973 and 1991 specification markers are currently available. With U.S. Highways, Arizona deviated from the standard signage approach between 1948 and 1991, using their own specification markers. The available Arizona markers include 1926, pre-1956 (large version of 1926 without state name), 1956, 1960, 1963 and 1971 designs. Be aware that the 1963 ADOT specification markers were used on U.S. Highways until at least 1991, when the 1971 AASHTO specification markers took over. Unlike many other states, the 1948 and 1961 AASHTO designs were never used in Arizona.
Categories
editArticles should be placed in the following categories as appropriate:
- Category:State highways in Arizona for most highways
- Category:Interstate Highways in Arizona for highways that are also part of the Interstate Highway System in the state
- Category:U.S. Highways in Arizona for highways that are also part of the U.S. Highway System in the state
Templates
editInfobox
editUse {{infobox road}} or {{infobox road junction}} as needed for articles. The state parameters should contain the state's postal abbreviation. The type codes are the same as for the junction template below.
Junction template
editUse {{jct}} to create the entries in a junction list section for the article, or the junction list in the infobox. To use, insert {{jct|state=AZ|type|number}} into the article. If two to four highways are needed, use {{jct|state=AZ|type|first number|type|second number}}. Types can be I for Interstates, US for US Routes or AZ for state routes. Further instructions can be found on the documentation page.
Citation templates
edit{{Cite ADOT map}} is used to cite official State Highway Maps published by ADOT or the Arizona State Highway Department online. Currently, there are maps for 1919, 1921, 1926 to 1932, 1934 to 1936, 1939 to 1943, 1946, 1958, 1961, 1963 and 1971. See the template documentation for more information.

{{ADOT log}} is used to cite ADOT State Highway System Logs, which provide the lengths, mileposts and junction tables for all active (and in some cases former) Arizona state highways. Currently, logs are available from 1981, 1986, 1992, 1998, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. See the template documentation for more information.
- Example: Transportation Planning Division, Data Bureau (December 31, 1992). "1992 State Highway System Log" (PDF). Arizona Department of Transportation. Retrieved October 15, 2019 – via Arizona Memory Project.
{{ADOT res}} is used to cite numerous ADOT right-of-way resolution files. These files are useful for determining dates and time periods when routes were established, re-aligned, constructed or decommissioned. See the template documentation for more information.
- Example: Arizona Department of Transportation. "ADOT Right-of-Way Resolution 1977-11-A-029". Retrieved October 15, 2019 – via Arizona Highway Data.
