The Opera of the Month for October is Giovanni Pacini's La schiava in Bagdad
This year marks the 200th anniversary of its premiere. The opera was expressly written for Giuditta Pasta, who created the role of Zora the slave girl. Pictured here is Rosalbina Caradori as Zora circa 1826
In addition to the opera itself, we lack articles on:
- Savino Monelli, who created the role of Nadir
- Pio Botticelli, who created the role of the Caliph
- Luigi Pacini (the father of Giovanni Pacini), who created the role of Mustafa
