Wikipedia:WikiProject Latter Day Saint movement/Temples

This page contains guidelines for and documentation of the templates used in conjunction with temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Pictures of the temples - 167 of the 170 dedicated Temples (98%) have pictures: Cebu City Philippines Temple, Seoul Korea Temple (both can't have pictures on Commmons because no Freedom of Panorama) are missing pictures, and Córdoba Argentina Temple only having a map). 2 of the 3 temples scheduled for dedication are missing pictures: Praia Cape Verde Temple and Yigo Guam Temple.

Summary

edit

Each temple has a data page that stores the data to be used in the templates, of the form: Template:LDS Temple/Temple name. All the templates that format temple data use a single set of data for each temple. Thus updating the data for each temple will only need to be done in one location.

Using the data in multiple locations is accomplished by transcluding the datapage along with a format parameter, which indicates which template to use. Thus the calls to transclude temple data will be a call of the form {{LDS Temple/Temple name | format= format template }}.

Documentation

edit

All documentation has been moved to the Template:LDS Temple/doc page as having that information here resulted in accusations of WikiProject ownership (depsite the fact that most of the people using the structure that was organized by the project are not members of the wikiproject.
