editPrepared with commentary by YttriumShrew, Igordebraga and an anonymous editor
Along with keeping most of the last list, this Report illustrates how it's the week of Halloween (scary stories on streaming, real or fictional, along with the horrors of politics) and the Day of the Dead (particularly regarding a rapper who wound up shot).
Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about 1 Takeoff (rapper) 3,156,575 One more tragic addition to the list of murdered hip hop musicians, as one third of Migos was shot dead at just 28 outside a Houston bowling alley (albeit police reports indicate it was an accidental death caused by a stray bullet). 2 ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2,642,554 Cricket may not make sense to some people, but its popularity is evident from the continued high views of this page due to #4. 3 Aaron Carter 1,820,734 Another musical death at a young age, namely the brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter who followed his footsteps as a singer and was found drowned in his bathtub at the age of 34. 4 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup 1,465,153 The pool stages for this tournament are now done and dusted. In Group 1, New Zealand topped the table, becoming the first team to qualify for the semifinals, and were followed by England, who overtook Australia after defeating Sri Lanka in the group's final match. In a crowded Group 2, India qualified after South Africa were knocked out by the Netherlands, and were joined by Pakistan after their defeat of Bangladesh. The groups have been marked by several upsets courtesy of Ireland, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands. 5 Halloween 1,428,521 SPOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOKY! 6 Charles Cullen 1,372,687 The latest true crime flick to hit Netflix is The Good Nurse, a well-reviewed drama starring Eddie Redmayne (pictured) as this murderous nurse, and Jessica Chastain as the colleague who turned him in. 7 Migos 1,312,960 #1's rap group, who back in 2017 scored a chart-topper with "Bad and Boujee". 8 Jeffrey Dahmer 1,297,686 Mama they're in love with a criminal
And this kind of love is not logical...9 Quavo 1,215,376 Another of #7. He and his nephew #1 had released an album less than a month ago, and Quavo was one of the witnesses of Takeoff's death. 10 Elon Musk 1,112,744 Musk's takeover of Twitter keeps him in the news. In an effort to make the company profitable mass layoff were announced and users have been asked to pay $8 a month for premium services. 11 Day of the Dead 1,082,347 El Día de los Muertos (November 2, one day after El Día de los Santos and two after El Día de las Brujas that is #5) returns for another year. 12 Offset (rapper) 1,004,122 The last member of #7, who is #9's cousin and married to Cardi B. 13 Deaths in 2022 923,408 I'll believe it when I see it for myself
I don't need no one to tell me about Heaven...14 Kantara (film) 891,487 The Kannada film about a forest curse has now made its way onto the list of highest-grossing Indian films. 15 Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva 794,403 A former metalworker turned politician who in his fourth attempt was elected President of Brazil in 2002, leading the country for 8 years in a government that for all its problems (mostly regarding corruption) didn't derail a good foundation and saw the economy flourish and poverty levels diminish. He won another election, and while unlike in 2002 Lula is getting a country needing help after so, so many disgraces, there's hope that he can at least dig Brazil out of its current hole. 16 Black Adam (film) 780,385 Dwayne T. R. J. Ohnson's superhero film perhaps hasn't been the success DC hoped it would be, but it still seems to be acting as the start of a new chapter for the beleaguered DC Extended Universe. 17 2022 FIFA World Cup 762,302 Two weeks until football fans around the world start living in Arabia Standard Time. 18 Crown Jewel (2022) 741,732 While on sporting events in the Middle East, WWE held another pantomime in Saudi Arabia. 19 Canadian Premier League 693,584 One can question so many views for this Canadian soccer (this is another country where football is gridiron) tournament on the day of its final, won by Hamilton, Ontario's Forge FC. But the mobile percentage is acceptable and the alternative is adding in another Netflix true crime story, so in the CPL goes. 20 Rishi Sunak 688,237 The tailoff in views for the UK's new prime minister was still enough for him to stay on the list. 21 2022 Brazilian general election 680,903 South America's biggest freak show is finally done, deciding some state governors and the presidency. As mentioned above, #15 won the latter. About the poor excuse for a human being he defeated, and specially his fans, this is all that needs to be said. 22 Barbarian (2022 film) 679,853 Two scary streaming releases for #5, a movie that hit HBO Max\Star+ (albeit some countries are instead getting it in theaters) by a comedian about two people who rented the same home and discover the place has terrible secrets, and a Netflix anthology by a famed Mexican director. 23 Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities 678,294 24 No Nut November 597,969 An Internet challenge advocating for sexual abstinence during the 11th month of the year. 25 House of the Dragon 563,001 Rounding out the list is House of the Dragon, which is here for the last time this year with its run having finished.
Exclusions
edit- This list excludes the Wikipedia main page, non-article pages (such as redlinks), and anomalous entries (such as DDoS attacks or likely automated views). Since mobile view data became available to the Report in October 2014, we exclude articles that have almost no mobile views (5–6% or less) or almost all mobile views (94–95% or more) because they are very likely to be automated views based on our experience and research of the issue.
