Isabeau of Bavaria was Queen of France from 1385 to 1422. At age 15 or 16, Isabeau was sent to France to marry the young King Charles VI, and on 23 August 1389 she was honored with a coronation ceremony. In 1392, Charles began a lifelong mental illness. He allowed Isabeau to act on his behalf; causing her to become regent to the Dauphin of France and sit on the regency council. Charles's illness led to the Armagnac–Burgundian Civil War, and Isabeau shifted allegiances to choose the most favorable paths for the heir to the throne. When she sided with the Burgundians, the Armagnacs removed her from Paris and she was imprisoned. Isabeau attended the 1420 signing of the Treaty of Troyes, and lived in Paris until she died in 1435. Isabeau was seen as a spendthrift and irresponsible philanderess; late 20th and early 21st century historians concluded that many unflattering elements of her reputation stemmed from factionalism and propaganda. - Oppose as author. There's nothing special about 376 years. If this gets scheduled it would be the third re-run for me in less than 12 months (the second nominated by Z1720), and the fourth TFA - for someone who isn't even producing content. Furthemore, there's quite a lot clean up to done after a recent article-wide "copyedit" & sources are required to check throughout that meanings weren't changed; I no longer have those sources easily at hand; and personal circumstances make it extremely difficult to have to edit for a deadline. Please give the spot to a newly-promoted article. Victoria (tk) 20:55, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- If the FAC nominator doesn't want it to rerun, and there are concerns about the sources, then we should withdraw this. Z1720 (talk) 23:37, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
