This page will serve as my (EpochFail) work log. I'll try to hop on here and post about my progress on Snuggle every time I have an opportunity to get work done. If you'd like to follow the progress of mockups, discussions and new features, add this page to your watchlist. Please feel free to continue discussions inline with the entries.

The Wikimedia Hackathon provided me with some time to get some work done on Snuggle. I proposed a sprint to get mw:Extension:OAuth working so that I can move Snuggle off of my university's servers (grouplens.org) and onto WMF labs. That was way harder than I expected. But it works! I worked with Filippo Valsorda and he was an immense help with working out the nuance of MediaWiki's OAuth implementation and making sure that the checks that were implemented would be robust against likely en:threat models. Check out the library we published to make MediaWiki OAuth work easy for other python devs https://github.com/halfak/MediaWiki-OAuth (it supports python 2 and 3).

The fact that I can move to wmflabs also means that I can get other languages up and running. Props to Nemo for getting the language file for itwiki to a good state. I hope to get that online in the next couple of weeks. There's still some todos and I won't be sorting by desirability right away, but some early feedback would be good so I'll be deploying a minimal version out of the gate. --EpochFail (talkcontribs) 20:43, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Snuggle is live on WMF labs -- and OAuth is doing it's job. Woot. See https://snuggle-en.wmflabs.org/. I've put a permanent redirect in place of the old server. --EpochFail (talkcontribs) 19:42, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
