New Industrial Revolution

I am respectfully requesting that this article be undeleted. I disagree with the reason for deletion, as some of the editors deemed it "promotional synthesis." Although there are a lot of examples given for types of activities that fall with the New Industrial Revolution, this is a term that IS used to define an ongoing, current movement.[1], [2]. I have referred to this article numerous times, and have referred others in the field of sustainability, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and other disciplines to this page. Unfortunately, it no longer exists, and I can no longer add examples and proven references to it. Please consider restoring it. Thank you. ~ * ~ Blue Lunar Storm ~ * ~ (talk) 06:56, 19 May 2010 (UTC) -~ * ~ Blue Lunar Storm ~ * ~ (talk) 06:56, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Not done - this page has been deleted via a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/New Industrial Revolution. If you believe that the consensus of the discussion was found in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Arbitrarily0 (talk · contribs). If you have already done so, your concerns can be taken to deletion review. Maybe it can be userfied, but as far as I see you'll have a hard time to convince other editors that mentions of the term actually refer to something in common and WP:SYNTH does not apply. --Tikiwont (talk) 08:02, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Jason Chen

Jason Chen is a journalist and editor of the popular technology blog Gizmodo. This page was deleted for not indicating the importance or significance of the subject. However, Chen is a notable creative professional (WP:CREATIVE) for the following reasons:

For these reasons, I request that the Wikipedia page for Jason Chen be restored. - Captaintex (talk) 11:27, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Not done Under this name two different articles have been deleted. The first one was about a political science student, the second one was virtually empty an contained only a birthplace and date. If you think the journalist Jason Chen should have an article you'll need to start form scratch keeping WP:BLP in mind.--Tikiwont (talk) 12:57, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Hans Hagen

The article was deleted through an AfD. I'm asking for it (and it's talk page, if possible) to be userfied into my user namespace so it can be further developed. -Oneiros (talk) 18:45, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Done - it's at User:Oneiros/Hans Hagen. Before restoring it to the main space, you should check with Sjakkalle (talk · contribs) who closed the AfD; if he does not agree, you can take it to WP:Deletion review. If it is restored, you will need to sort out disambiguation with Hans Hagen (professor), who I presume is not the same guy. JohnCD (talk) 20:00, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
No, he isn't. Thanks.--Oneiros (talk) 20:01, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Daniel Heifetz

I am unsure why the page was deleted, no clear reason was given other than "it was recently deleted earlier today." I am currently in the process of adding sources, but it keeps getting deleted so quickly that I am unable to. -Rossk92 (talk) 19:07, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Not done The article was deleted because it was considered "unambiguous advertising or promotion". Because you recreated it so many times, the title has been protected against recreation. I suggest that you prepare a draft in your user space at User:Rossk92/Daniel Heifetz and then approach user Tnxman307 (talk · contribs), the administrator who protected it, for his agreement to repost it. If he does not agree, you can take it to WP:Deletion review.
In making your draft, make sure that (a) you avoid promotional language like renowned, revolutionary, transformational, innovative which make it sound like an advertisement or prospectus - see Wikipedia:Words to watch#Puffery - and (b) establish notability by giving references that show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." JohnCD (talk) 19:33, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Shunsuke Miyake

Please let me know how I can read the deleted article. ---Ichiro Kikuchi (talk) 07:55, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Done. I have userfied the article to your user space at User:Ichiro Kikuchi/Shunsuke Miyake where you can develop it. Before restoring it to the main space, please consult user UtherSRG (talk · contribs), the admin who deleted it. If he does not agree, you can take it to WP:Deletion review. It will help if you can find more references to reliable sources to help establish the notability of the subject. JohnCD (talk) 10:15, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Robert casilla (artist/illustrator)

reasoning -Rcasiart (talk) 23:26, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Robert casilla (artist/illustrator) I added the source links that I used in the article. I added biographical links to support the biographical information in the article.

  • The article is not deleted yet, so this isn't the right venue. I am going to guess from your username that you either are or represent Mr. Casilla. Is that correct? If so, then the appropriate thing to do is to not edit the article, as you have a conflict of interest. If you don't represent the subject then your first order of business should be rewriting the article so that it is not a copyright risk. Right now the article is similar enough to a bio on the web that an automated script has caught the resemblance. You or someone else must rewrite the article to avoid infringing on the copyright of that website and to not plagiarize from them. The tag on the top of the page may be removed if you have a source. I don't know what it is, specifically, but it looks automated. Just delete the code for it on the top of the page. Protonk (talk) 23:56, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Michael Weiss (Streamcast)

Article deleted by "Secret" who apparently had problems with the Wikipedia community and is no longer participating as an editor.) Streamcast was the lead defendant in the precedent setting MGM v Grokster case overturned by the US Supreme Court, who set up a new, non legislature enacted law, that now serves as a standard in which to hold technology companies liable for the actions of their users. As founding CEO of the company, I took the company from start-up to over 30 million users and won litigation against it by the entertainment industry in both the US Federal Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, I was the co-founder of the P2P United Trade group that lobbied Congress on behalf of 6 P2P Companies from 2003-6, helping to defeat the "Inducement Act" from becoming a law, even though the US Supreme Court enacted it for their decision in the MGM v Grokster case and the US Federal Court in New York used it as their basis to rule against Limewire last week. -Mbweiss (talk) 17:56, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

  •   Done I have overturned the A7 deletion because "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source". However, I have sticky prodded the article as it is entirely unsourced. Please also review our WP:COI guidelines regarding editing articles about yourself. –xenotalk 18:08, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Harry Ralston

Was deleted by closedmouth because screenwriter/director Ralston was considered un-notable by the editor, possibly because there was no attribution in the article. But Ralston's film won Best Film at two significant international film festivals, was well reviewed by the lead critic for the New York Times, AO Scott, and was released by Lions Gate Films, a notable studio. Furthermore Ralston is a frequent co-writer with Roger Avary, Academy-Awarding winning screenwriter of "Pulp Fiction," as noted in Avary's bio, on IMDB and on Avary's and wikipedia page. Last, Ralston has a recent screenwriting credit on the MGM film "Mexicali. The article about him is reposted below with complete attribution" -Lcantrow (talk) 21:52, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Harry Ralston is an American-born screenwriter, director, and producer.[3] After working in advertising in New York and then as a journalist covering bullfights for the Mexico City News he moved to Los Angeles and wrote and directed the 2000 film The Last Man [4] which starred Jeri Ryan (in her first starring role), and produced the 1999 Tamara Hernandez film Men Cry Bullets [5] The Last Man won Best Film in the Festival of Fantastic Films in London[6] as well a Lumière Award in the New Orleans Film Festival[7]. It was released by Lion's Gate [8] [9]. He most recently co-wrote the MGM film "Mexicali" with Roger Avary and Cristian Gudegast & Patrick Kelly[10].

Dan & Mab's Furry Adventures

The page was originally deleted along with several other webcomics during the discussion of Wikipedia's notability guidelines for websites. It was later agreed that websites could be notable via electronic and not physical paper sources, and most of them were restored; I notice this one was not. It was notable, among other things, for winning the web cartoonist's choice award twice, and was nonetheless in the process of having more sources added at a good clip. Further, excepting the original nominator, the vote to keep was literally unanimous. Every single one of several dozen posters voted to keep as notable, excepting the original nominator, so I found it very odd that the page was deleted. It's entirely possible the original deletion itself was the result of error. -Sim (talk) 03:18, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Since this was deleted in an AFD, it's probably best if I userfy it for you and you can improve it before inserting it into mainspace. Sound like a plan? –xenotalk 14:55, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Azmyth

"Not Notable"

The band Azmyth is indeed notable. Check the facts. They meet at least three of the requirements.

The Band has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. OCALA, Orange Springs, Florida The band has won or placed in a major music competition.Pat Traver's Battle Of The Bands / Shredder Shootout , ETC The band has been the subject of a half-hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network. Is frequently covered in publications devoted to a notable sub-culture. "The Regular Guys Show" (Atlanta) in 2003 for over a half an hour.

"No sourcing, no legit assertion of notability, highly promotional tone, no GNEWS hits, adding up to failure to satisfy the GNG and relevant specialized guidelines" It's promotional in tone, has no good sources for assertions of notability, is about a band which doesn't show up in GoogleNews, and generally should probably have been deleted last year as yet another article about a non-notable band. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:55, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

RoboForm

I am the marketing manager for Siber Systems makers of RoboForm. We have absolutely nothing to do with creating this page in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines that companies do not create entries for their own products. However the reason stated for deletion: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:CSD#G11 is completely undeserved. If an editor requires more information about RoboForm in order to make the entry more informative, we will gladly provide it, however we strongly disagree with the decision to simply erase what information was out there and which was posted by other members of the wikipedia community. -Sibersystems (talk) 15:24, 24 May 2010 (UTC) Sibersystems (talk) 15:33, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Comment - another version of this page exists at Boston Gentlemens' Driving Club. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 21:14, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
I have moved that one to the title with "Gentlemen's" which is the correct spelling, and added "underconstruction" and "notability" tags to give some time for development. Bosgent, a Wikipedia article about a club, or anything else, must demonstrate notability, which is not a matter of saying so but of showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", and as you are evidently connected with the club you need to be careful of our rules on conflict of interest. This is uncontroversially deleted page, my intention is not to fault the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Castes in India: Their Mechanism, Genesis and Development. This is the article regarding a paper presented by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar at Columbia University, it hold research work on the aspects of development of castes. I think this article should be restored as it is an important work by Babasheb Ambedkar which cannot be presented in other articles/pages. My concern is to review this article to meet WP:Notability guidelines, which is the ground reason for deletion. So I request for undeletion to improved this article.--Ranjithsutari (talk)
Please review the general guideline Wikipedia:Notability which, in summary, requires evidence of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", and the specific guideline Wikipedia:Notability (books). It seems to me unlikely that this book can meet these requirements; but if, having read those guidelines, you think it can, ask below here and we can userfy the article into a user sub-page for you to work on. JohnCD (talk) 21:03, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
I hope that I've understood the specific guidelines Wikipedia:Notability (books). I've found that this article meets the Wikipedia:Notability_(books)#Criteria. So I request for undeletion to improve this article.--Ranjithsutari (talk)

SCATMANisAbastard

This page should not be deleted in order to warn more people to steer clear of whatever this YouTube user has created; especially small children. This article CAN be qualified as a partial biography, for it describes part of his daily activities. This can also curb some of the hatred from other users to SCATMANisAbastard, because it can purely and truly describe him. If one user decides to put bad language that has not been blocked out, well then, others can edit and delete that part. Otherwise, this article can be considered innocent, and fine, because it has bad language blocked out, and can warn others of a bad person. -Kiwi663 (talk) 01:44, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

ToolBook

I just noticed that this page was deleted. I've no idea why. ToolBook is a Software product created by SumTotal Systems, for which I am a 14 year employee. We did not create the original page, I really don't know who did, but we have kept it current with product history, fun facts, etc. for the last few years. We wanted to update it again with recent release news but found it missing, gone, and have therefore assumed it was deleted. I can't imagine any valid reason given in a request to have this page removed - as your general policies frown upon deleting pages. We would definitely like to have it restored if possible. -Denny Dedmore (talk) 02:00, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Not done The article was deleted as unambiguous advertising, which would need a fundamental rewrite to become an encyclopedia article. Reelworld

The page appears to have been deleted for no genuine reason. Other similar companies have articles within Wikipedia, and this article is no different. Additionally, the user responsible for its deletion cites a lack of significance or notability as the reason for deletion. This company is both significant and notable within its field. This company is responsible for the creation of products and services unlike any other, has a client list which reads like a who's who of radio, and this company is highly respected in its industry. -212.78.230.236 (talk) 03:08, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Could the wikipedia page I created, This_Is_How_You_Play be "userfied" or added to my own user namespace so that I can improve the article and fix whatever was wrong with it? Jesus Correa

This is an article I wrote about a noteworthy artist and politician from Rockford, Illinois. I did my best to give as many references as possible and state only the facts. This person ran for mayor of a Mid-sized American city as a member of a major political party ans was written about in major newspapers and appeared on NPR. No attempt was made to give me a reason why the article was being deleted and no suggestions for improvement were made. This person is also a respected artist who's work has been covered by legitimate media. As a new contributor I'd appreciate at least some attempts to help me improve the article before it is summarily deleted, as several other editors chose to remove the speedy deletion tag in the past as I have been working on the article. I checked and this editor also deleted a lot of other articles within a short period. Maybe that indicates this person is not taking enough time to consider the articles properly or make/suggest improvement. I appreciate your time in this matter. -Tvaulto (talk) 23:48, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

The Leaders of Something Horrible

I feel like someone just sort of summarily deleted everything I had contributed to Wikipedia. I've been trying to get up to speed on the coding and procedure so I can create high quality articles about subjects that are noteworthy and that other people probably would never know about unless I create them. This is an article about a theatre/comedy troupe in my town which is of note and respected here. I've attempted to make it as well-designed and factual as possible. I read something about not biting the newcomers. If every contribution I attempt to make is going to cause some sort of pissing contest I'm not going to spend the time to contribute to Wikipedia and whatever I wanted to contribute about the place I am will never be included. I'd like to stay on Wikipedia and maybe even create MORE articles and let time and reasoned consensus decide if they have merit, not the arbitrary deletion ability of one person who doesn't even spend enough time to suggest ways in which the article can be improved. -Tvaulto (talk) 23:57, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Not done There's still a copy at User:Tvaulto/The Leaders of Something Horrible. reasoning -BGinOC (talk) 21:04, 28 May 2010 (UTC) Article was incomplete but contained enough general information with references while I continued working on additional research. The user that deleted said article gave no time or notice for my improvement of said article and has been deleting hundreds of articles all day.

This article is about a person that is a respected artist and who's work has been covered by legitimate media. I'd appreciate at least some attempts to help me improve the article before it is deleted. I feel this person is not taking enough time to consider the articles properly or make/suggest improvement by their deletion records.

Cristy Coors Beasley

Cristy Coors Beasley was part of the groundbreaking web series as both a producer and recurring character Rebecca on LONELYGIRL15, and was the series producer for the wildly successful spin-off KATEMODERN launched in conjunction with Bebo. Both series have significantly influenced the ongoing and evolving dialogue of digital content, and have influenced the shift in traditional distribution outlets for original content. Both series have been named as some of the most significant happenings in the digital age by Newsweek Magazine and Time Magazine. Both productions also won many awards, including BAFTA and Webby Awards, the most regarded accolade in the digital world. Both series are regarded as two of the most successful web-series ever created, and was a veritable revolution for online marketing and advertising. Dr. Ghulam Hussain

Deleted because of: A7. The man has great importance for Pakistanis. Please if you consider not to undelete it then copy the information on that page over to Ghulam Hussain (physician).

Not done - the page, now seemingly located at Ghulam Hussain (physician), has not been deleted. Cheers, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 13:18, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
Dr. Ghulam Hussain page contained more information and it was removed and the old webpage Ghulam Hussain (physician) was restored wich contained less information. The person that the article is about wants the article to be on Dr. Ghulam Hussain and not Ghulam Hussain (physician).
Done I've restored the extra information from Dr. Ghulam Hussain. Do you know of reliable sources which can be used to source the statements in the article? If so please cite them, it would be very helpful! I'm afraid whatever Dr. Hussain would like the article to be called, we have a guideline on article titles which we follow to keep things consistent. International Working People's Association

A small anarchist organization made use of this name in the late 1970s and beyond, which was judged non-notable in an Articles for Deletion debate. It was noted during the debate that there was an earlier International Working People's Association (established 1881 in London, American section 1883 in Pittsburgh) which WAS notable. I have just launched a WP page on this earlier and uncontestably significant group. However, in the process of writing the earlier group's history I have learned that there were two revival attempts made, in 1907 and 1921, respectively. I feel there is some chance that the 1970s/80s IWPA's attempt to launch under the same name may be integrated into that narrative, the question of absolute separation being unclear in the original debate. I seek restoration of the deleted page only for purposes of potential merger of the information contained therein with the now established page International Working People's Association, not to restore it as a separate and free-standing entity. Thanks. -Carrite (talk) 16:53, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Peepshow (Burlesque)

I haven't had a chance to read the article, but it seems to me that the context can be made out fairly well from reading Kelly Monacos page, the directors page, and Holly Madisons page (among others). Perhaps it needs a rewrite for that show context to be clear, but again, without reading the page, I don't know if that's the case or not. -65.60.168.129 (talk) 19:16, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Biographies of Cherie Nutting and Bachir Attar

I am Cherie Nutting, manager and photographer for Bachir Attar and The Master Musicians of Jajouka. We both have had bois which have been on your Wiki site for many years. The Cached pages can still be seen but our bios have been removed by an editor who calls himself JZG.

For years there were slanderous statements and wrong information about Bachir Attar. My bio was basically good but lacked souces. Above both bios it was asked that more info be added to legitimize all that was said. In Bachirs' case it stated that he drank vodke and therefore could not be leader of his group. This was there for years and I continually complained about this to an editor named Faissal. A few days ago I noticed the slander had not been changed. This is especially upsetting as Bachir does not drink alcohol at all.I do believe that this is no ones' business however as this is supposed to be a bio on the work and not the character of an artist.Suddenly this was removed but there were still items wrong and missing on the bio.

I was written to by the Wik Info dept advising me to fix the bios myself as the editors are volunteers and have no time for the edits. I am not good on the net and rarely check suites etc.I followed your directions and entered Bachir Attars' bio site and mine. I fixed spelling errors as well as content errors. In Bachirs' bio I added more reading references to back up statements. This is stated as a need at the top of the page.I also added films where Bachir and The Master Musicians of Jajouka contributed music. The Wik had only added the film "The Cell'. All films added were kept but each day 3 films were removed."The Sheltering Sky" Bertoluccis' Paul Bowles novel adaptation 1989 and "Naked Lunch" William Burroughs' novel "Naked Lunch" directed by David Cronenburg 1993.I also added the film that occurred with the Steel Wheels recording with The Rolling Stones entitled "The Rolling Stones in Morocco 1989 for BBC, directed by Nigil Finch.

Every day these 3 films were removed. Why? I do not know.Every day I asked why and no one would tell me. All that was said was that I was committing some kind of crime.Oddly for years THE WIK had this information on my biography but not Bachirs' as well.

I also added 3 books to my bio."Jajouka Rollingstone" and "Old Gods Almost Dead", by Stephen Davis. Both Bachir and myself are in these books.

I also am in the book and did the cover to "IN TOUCH", Paul Bowles' book of letters by Jeffrey Miller Farrar and Strauss and Giroux

Both bios I added Robert Palmers' daughters' film of her father as well as the book just published by Scribners 2009

"The Hand of Fatima" "Blues and Chaos" the writings of Robert Palmer.

I did the book cover with my photo of Robert Palmer in Jajouka 1988 and added to the film with info and pictures.Bachir is a main character in the film.

These were deleted too.

When I replaced these things both of our bios were deleted by JZG and no one will personally explain why we have been deleted and what I did wrong? I was only attempting to correct things.

I have written to Stephen Davis, Paul Bowles' Estate,Augusta Palmer,Jeffrey Miller. They can confirm that what I said is true. I can provide concrete fact that this is true. Contracts, book covers, scans of book and film credits. What else is needed to re instate our bios and have all information that is correct added?

I would greatly appreciate a letter back which is understandable and what should be done to fix the problem wit JZG and his opinions that are odd to all of us regarding our work.

Note to other editors, please refer to Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive615#Jajouka/Joujouka topic ban, redux regarding the years-long conflict of interest regarding these articles and related subjects. Unfortunately (for Wikipedia), the only people with the time and energy to edit these articles are those with personal connections to the subject(s). Biographies:1) Bachir Attar 2) Cherie Nutting ( we did nothing wrong)

reasoning -Bachir Attar (talk) 02:25, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Dear Sir

Both Bachir Attar and I have been deleted. Please give specific reasons why. We were told to fix our biographies by ''[redacted]''Joe Daley. We added films we were involved with musicially. We have contacts to back them all up. Each change was submitted to Bachirs' bio but for some reason Cheriie Nutting is deleted for adding 3 books to her work and a BBC film. Suddenly I was taken off the Wikepedia. Bachir is also off but you have his true biography with the changes that we made. Why is this a problem? There was no intention to do wrong yet loads of frustration for us and for our employers who wished to help by verifying the facts we added.

[Redacted] who still has a bio up has entered our bios continually with different names. He has been doing this for years. Bachir and I have never even entered our bio pages until the other day when told to do so.

I must be doing something wrong as I do not know how to use the internet save for emails.I am an artist and aged 61 so this is all new to me.

Thank you for your time and I hope that finally I have entered the right spot to ask for undeletion.

Sincerely,

Cherie Nutting
