Wikipedia Day cakes!

You are invited to join us at Ace Hotel for Wikipedia Day Los Angeles 2017, a Wikipedia celebration and mini-conference as part of the project's global 16th birthday festivities. In addition to the party, the event will be a participatory unconference, with plenary panels, lightning talks, and of course, open space sessions.

Special guests include Professor Peter Lunenfeld of UCLA, presenting a lecture on digital culture, and former CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jessica Yellin, participating in a panel discussion on Wikipedia's relationship to our new post-truth world.

And there will be cake!

Please sign up/RSVP below; due to limited capacity, RSVPs are essential

Parking/transit info

edit
  • This event is being held at the same time as a major march (FB link) so expect some level of traffic and parking headaches. (Be sure to say clear of Pershing Square!)
  • In case this is useful to anyone attending without a car: The easiest Metro stop is Pershing Square, on the Red Line or the Purple Line. From there, it's just five blocks down Broadway to the Ace Hotel.Penny Richards (talk) 04:36, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • But given what's going on at Pershing Square that day, a better choice for Metro riders might be the station at 7th St / Metro Center.Penny Richards (talk) 01:25, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's parking at the Ace and several nearby lots. (Please note that we're not able to validate parking at the Ace.)
