Wikipedia:Interface administrators' noticeboard

Latest comment: 7 days ago by Bearcat in topic Redlinked category

Welcome to the interface administrators' noticeboard

This is the interface administrator noticeboard, for discussion of interface administrators and coordination of edits to the interface.

Currently only interface administrators can undelete JS/CSS pages, if you have an uncontroversial undelete or deleted version retrieval request, please list it below.

Any administrator can delete JS/CSS/JSON pages, for speedy deletions just use a CSD template on the page or its talk page.

Individual requests for edits to interface or user JavaScript/CSS pages should continue to be made on their respective talk pages.

    Problems with User talk:Qwertyytrewqqwerty/DisamAssist

Not sure where to report it, but this tool appears abandoned. It may be producing some errors. Can someone take a look, and if possible, fix the issues and adopt it? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:31, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

I see this was already reported here few weeks ago #Suggested edits to DisamAssist. But help seems still needed. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:32, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Since this is a user script, probably best to post this at WP:US/R, where perhaps someone will be interested in forking and fixing it. –Novem Linguae (talk) 10:18, 28 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

    Redlinked category

The latest run of Special:WantedCategories features a redlinked Category:New Pages, populated only by a user's private css settings page. I've seen this category once before, per Wikipedia:Interface_administrators'_noticeboard/Archive_3#Redlinked category, which was caused by the same user as this new appearance — and that user still has no edit history aside from their own private js and css pages.

Since I don't have the privileges to edit other users' private settings pages, could somebody edit the page to remove the redlinked category from it? (Given the fact that their own private settings pages are the user's only edits, we can't rely on them being around enough to trust that they would remove the category promptly on their own if asked, though they should probably still be notified to not do this again in the future just in case.)

    Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 14:53, 4 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
