Function details: I'm following Jonesey95's advice at Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard#CW Error #48 and filing a BRFA to fix the ~11,000 articles with self-links. I've already run this on a large number of articles with no problem (see my contribs), but I recently changed the code to work on section links (and some other minor changes).
Discussion
editQwerfjkl, cool, seems like a useful bot. In the code, it seems like you do some sort of manipulation to make sure the first character of the title is lowercase, and then use that in the regular expressions. What's the purpose of that? Enterprisey (talk!) 07:22, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- @Enterprisey To handle links like Asda and asda, while leaving AsdA and asdA. ― Qwerfjkltalk 07:27, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

- @Enterprisey
Done - see Special:Contribs/Qwerfjkl (bot). Only one problem here - I've changed the RegEx so it will avoid links liketext
andtext
, but fix(Title)#Example
with Section link. Curiously, when fixing the error, I managed to use a script while logged out. ― Qwerfjkltalk 11:57, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]- Cool! Approved. Thanks for your work on this. If it's possible to remove that long checkwiki URL from the edit summary, so that it would just be "Removed link(s) to title (CW error #48) (via Bandersnatch)", that would be cool; if not, don't sweat it. And yeah, I've edited while logged out a few times while testing a bot program. Always a fun little surprise... Enterprisey (talk!) 19:30, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
