Programming Language(s): Uses AWB with autosave function
Function Overview: The tagging of uncategorized articles with template:uncategorized. Though bots have previously been approved for this task, it appears that they are no longer operational; the activation of a new bot has been requested at WP:BOTREQ
Edit period(s): continuous, as needed
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
The "Untagged Uncategorized Articles" list generated by a toolserver script [1] would be queried, and processed using AWB. After loading each article included in the list, and confirming that it meets the following requirements:
- Does not contain any categories whatsoever.
- Does not transclude Template:Uncategorized, or any redirect thereto.
- Does not transclude Template:Wi, or any redirect thereto, which would indicate that the page is a non-article referring the reader to Wiktionary, and that no additional categorization is available.
- Is not a redirect.
- Does not transclude Template:Inuse, or any redirect thereto.
template:uncategorized would be added to the top bottom of the article, with the date of addition indicated by using "{{subst:dated|uncategorized}}" Erik9 (talk) 21:56, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

editWould be nice indeed to have a bot again for this job. One point, {{Uncategorized}} should be placed at the bottom of the page, not the top of the page. See also the template instructions. Garion96 (talk) 22:12, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- You're right; I've modified the function details accordingly. Erik9 (talk) 22:17, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks, it makes categorising much easier. Garion96 (talk) 22:26, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
