Pillars
editWatershed is a well rounded school that offers a holistic education in that it offers four pillars in its education. It offers academics, cultural activities, sports and spiritual exercise. Watershed is selective in its academic sector as it has an annual open day where Form 1 students take an entrance exam. The school also imposes the same high standards on its potential O' level students as it requires 5 or more passes for admission. The school is also particularly successful in the music sector as its choir and its students have been awarded honours and first class awards in competitions like the National Allied Art music festival. The school also offers clubs like Model United Nations, Leo clubs, Rotary International, quiz, debate and cycling. The school is also successful in the sports sector in that it offers basketball, hockey, rugby, tennis and cricket. It also participates in the MCD. In the spiritual aspect the school offers a Scripture Union club and a Harvest Club where students are free to explore their spirituality. It also has a chapel where students go for devotions.
History
editWatershed College was formed in 1987 when farmers living in the area in Marondera decided to create a school for their children. The schools around at the time – Peterhouse Group of Schools – were too selective for the farmers and for this reason they decided to form their own institute. Farms were donated to this cause and so began Watershed College.
