Vinicius Renê Lummertz Silva (born in Rio do Sul in 1960) is a Brazilian politician and former Minister of Tourism of Brazil.[1][2][3]

Biography
editVinicius Lummertz holds a degree in political science from the American University of Paris and has a postgraduate degree from the Harvard Kennedy School. From September 2012 to May 2015, he served in the Ministry of Tourism as National Secretary of Tourism Policies and was president of Embratur from June 2015 to April 2018.[4]
He was Secretary of Tourism, Sports, and Culture of the municipality of Florianópolis, and from January 2007 to December 2010, he was Secretary of State for International Articulation of the Government of the State of Santa Catarina. In 2010, he also held the position of Secretary of State for Planning, Budget, and Management of Santa Catarina.
He served in the rectorate of the University of Southern Santa Catarina from January 2002 to November 2003, and from January 1999 to December 2002, he was the technical director of Sebrae Nacional. He also served as president of the Commercial and Industrial Association of Florianópolis from April 1997 to December 2000.
He is the author of the books Brasil: Potência Mundial do Turismo, Complexo Brasil, o difícil é fazer and Sem o Turismo a conta não fecha.
After serving as Minister of Tourism in the Michel Temer government, he was appointed Secretary of Tourism and Travel of the State of São Paulo in the administration of Governor João Doria.[5]
