No. I kept the list of guitars and got rid of the songs he plays them for. Why? Well, it's a useless list that was excessively long. And Wikipedia has a policy against indiscriminate lists of information. Also, some songs he switches the kind of guitar he plays from performance-to-performance so a list really just grows for no purpose. And considering we've already covered the fact that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate list of information, a separate page for the guitars/songs is out of the question. No, because then if we have one or two up, other songs will start creeping into that list from other users. It's bad enough we list every guitar The Edge plays (that is probably not even necessary itself), but to list every song in the band's catalogue and which guitar it matches up to is just no necessary or reasonable. Luis Gonzalez nickname warring

Hi Y2k. An anonymous editor is insisting on adding the nicknames "LuGo" and "Long Gone" on the article Luis Gonzalez (outfielder), just like it had been on Mariano Rivera with other nicknames never used. The user has even started removing the nickname "Gonzo" which is the most commonly used nickname for Luis Gonzalez. I am reverting these edits and I would appreciate if you came to take a look at this article's talk page and give your opinion about this. Thank you. Canjth 20:34, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Snow Patrol

With all due respect, please do some research before reverting edits. This band definitely contributes largely to the power pop genre. I've now cited some references in the article if you'd care to see. It seems to me that summarily reverting (your comment said "none of these edits were helpful or cited") is somewhat irresponsible. Does every sentence in an article need a citation? Surely you've heard Snow Patrol. "Chasing Cars"? Pure powerpop. "Signal Fire"? Pure powerpop. "Run"? Pure powerpop. "You're all I have," "Hands Open" - the list goes on. See citations I've added to the article, the critics agree. Gekritzl 01:14, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Ie, it's lost the point of the 'watershed' (find another word if you want) and the fact that the writing of One short-circuited a band crisis and provided a sense of purpose for the band. U2 teenagers pic

Sorry not to get back to you earlier, i got sidetracked, and then forgot.

I think using that pic is a great idea from you, and would be a huge lift for the article. However, although I am no expert in copyright, I am fairly certain we can't really use it. Firstly, it's a non-free image (ie, copyrighted) and fair use is only really a last resort where it is crucial for the article. Even if you do get it up, in my experience, you will be defending constantly - you could get lucky and convince one 'deletionist', but then the next will delete it. (groan) Let me ask around, but I don't think it is going to be OK. A real pity.

I upload a few of my own (awful) pics and I too am hopeless with choosing the correct license. It really needs to be explained better in layman's terms. --Merbabu 21:56, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

An answer to your edit summary on Guitar Hero II

Which was: "why do we need to source a product that does not yet exist?"

This shouldn't still be left unsourced, because the game manual is as far the only source on where you could verify that there is an optional pedal for Guitar Hero II. When I was placing the tag, I was very sure that the claim could use with a citation, because this piece of information isn't very common to be found from sources. Even if it's not possible to find a source from a website, even the game manual would be a good source enough for this claim to ensure it is verifyable. Myself I don't own the Xbox 360 GH II manual, so I was unable to do this. ~Iceshark7 16:41, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Also another one: "I'm confused... does the next tier unlock after completing the Encore, or after completing the current tier's requirements?"

I found out that you actually need to clear the encore song. (PAL, PS2, Expert) This might be different on a lower difficulty/different console/NTSC versions etc. Verifications for this could be a good thing, and I don't think that the encores are there just for some "extra cash", even though those do indeed net more money than the other songs. ~Iceshark7 16:46, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

MLB 07: The Show

Back in April, I had added a 'problems and glitches' section to MLB 2K7. It was originally unsourced, and I added citations from the forums of 2K Sports, just so they were sourced. I'm not trying to bring up the point now that they should stay. I have a similar problem with the game noted above. You had said to me that there needs to be a source better than forums. I'm currently in an edit war over the same thing. What's worse is not only are they unsourced, but many of them are factual errors that don't interfere with gameplay. Actually, I would like to know your view on why you pulled it on MLB 2K7 to begin with. Anyway, please respond on my talk page and yours, as I will copy, paste this 'letter' to my talk page as well. Dead Rising Format

Sorry about that, I was trying to group different sections with similar subjects together under similar headings like the Video Game project recomends. I figured things like "controversies" could fit under reception, and "soundtrack" or "downloadable content" (which are just kind of hanging out there as stubs) could fit under development. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
