Q&A
That's why I'm here....well that, and to edit Wikipedia. :D Just a forewarning, I have many Wikifriends that patrol my talk page, so if you ask me a question don't be surprised if one of them answers it before I do. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 14:49, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
For this. I thought all the edits were from the same IP and so rollback would have reverted it all - obviously not, I should have checked. Thanks for fixing! Tombomp (talk/contribs) 09:33, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

The Despair Squid
Hi Magnius, I'm a little confused as to why you're pointing the despair squid to Back to Reality. The episode doesn't actually discuss the creature in any way, shape or form, besides mentioning that it exists. I don't see how piping the link is appropriate. I personally don't think it should be linked, but rather the episode title should be. -- WORMMЯOW 14:22, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- The linking of that episode for the despair squid was not my idea, but it was intended to link back to the episode that the first despair squid appeared in to explain the reference in the episode. I agree that it is probably not the best way to do it, so will endevour to come up with a better way of referencing the past. magnius (talk) 16:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
talkie toaster
The reference to Doctor Who is actually very relevant as a reference to popular culture. 121.209.147.218 (talk) 10:11, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi 121. Have you got a reference for the talkie toaster sounding like a Dalek, as I personally can't see the similarity. Without a valid reference, I do not think it is appropriate to the article as it is Original Research. Don't forget, that the talkie toaster has been appeared in different season and sounded very different in each one. I'm happy to discuss this further -- WORMMЯOW 11:30, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Calmer Waters 11:07, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

I think the inconsistency I was flagging on this page was something different -- it used to claim both that she did marry Owen Tudor and that it's unknown whether she did or not. But that problem seems to have gone too, so I'm happy that the tag can be removed. Thanks for checking. Mhardcastle (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:36, 1 September 2010 (UTC).

I don't understand that at all. "Position" in what sense? Position amongst the words in the sentence? Position in some hierarchy of parts of speech? If you understand it, which it seems you do, perhaps you would be able to clarify it in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.151.35.79 (talk) 13:47, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. It doesn't make any sense. I thought it did, but the more I re-read it, the less sense it makes. For now, I've put the flag back, and I'll see if I can re-write the whole thing later. -- WORMMЯOW 08:11, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Oh, yes, I did something for that artcle. I remember I was searching for some information about Space rock, Tangerine Dream, Popol Vuh, Hawkwind, Gong, ... but I found nothing until I discovered it in the content of an old version of Kosmische musik and decided to restore it. I don't remember what I did exactly, but I will check out the article history very soon and hope to participate to the discussion. Anyway, I'm here just to say thank you for the advice. All Day transcription
Thanks for doing the infographic transcription. Gillis just wrote me and he said that he has a timing list, but he has to format it and he does not know when he will have time to deal with it. Since you looked thoroughly at the Fastcompany data, let me know if you learned something about it that I do not know. It seems obvious to me that however they got the track timing data, they did not get it from Wikipedia. I assume they just used Wikipedia as a starting point then independently verified everything they did, but the data is very different and I see no reason to call it a circular reference. Blue Rasberry 17:39, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- No problem, I thought it was a very good solution, and would have been very helpful. I agree there are significant differences (samples missing, others added, second differences here and and there), and they do mention that they did some of their own work. However, they specifically state that they use Mashupbreakdown.com and AllDaySamples.com, both of which specifically cite Wikipedia. It may be that the information has all featured on our page at some point and been removed or changed, but either way there is a clear circular reference.
- Hopefully Gillis will publish something so that we can put it up, I've not requested deletion of my FastCompany transcription, as it may be useful in the future if we can use it. Also, Errant's point regarding overkill is a good one, the rest of the article could do with some expansion if we are going to put in such a large track listing.Worm 17:51, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your welcome friend. See i love Grand Theft Auto IV and that's why I can't see its image going down. The awards won by Gta IV are "Game of the year" awards but they are edited as "Action game of the year" awards. There is a big difference between the two. The reviews are also mostly of PC version instead of PS3/Xbox 360 version which represent the game. So please if you can do anything about it, I would be very grateful to you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gta4best (talk • contribs) 17:25, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I too am a big fan of GTAIV, though I largely ignored the article when the game came out due to the debate over Niko's nationality. I'll see what I can do about the awards, though it may take me a few days as I'm going to be offline this weekend, and I'll need to do a little research to make sure the information is correct. Do you have any reliable sources that confirm it was Game of the Year, rather than Action Game of the Year? Worm 17:31, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Gta IV Reliable sources
I am providing you with a link "www.gotypicks.blogspot.com". This site records Game of the year picks of various websites. So when you visit the site, go to "2008" link for 2008 GOTY awards and you will get all the links of Game of the year awards won by GTA IV. That site doesn't have 2 GOTY awards, one of "Electronic Gaming Monthly" and the other of "Atomic Gamer". For these 2 you may search on Google to verify. Nuisance editors
Hi "Worm". Thanks for your reply, but not surprisingly (due to lack of information about long ongoing past history) you have been distracted from the point. I am fed up with Danjel. I (and numerous others) have been polite, reasonable, rational, tolerant and civil to him on many occasions. We have all wasted our time - Danjel does not read what has been written, and goes to tortuos efforts to avoid anything relevant that does not match his own view of the world. I want nothing to do with him. I want him to get out of my life, and stay out of my life. Permanently.
Hence, I will ask again: "What are my options with respect to a nuisance editor who repeatedly places "stuff" on my talk page despite repeated requests for him not to, and despite repeated statements that he is not welcome here?"
Thanks, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:52, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- OK.
- I really have to thank you for your efforts. You've gone a long way out of your way over this, and I admire your persistence.
- If, for some reason, you ever decide you want to be an admin, drop a note on my talk page and I'd be happy to contribute a "reference".
- You keep up the good work, and I'll remove what's-his-name from my memory. Thanks, and best wishes, Pdfpdf (talk) 11:15, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- In regards to Pdfpdf's and my history, these are the specific interactions where Pdfpdf claims that he has been polite, etc. and that I have ignored his concerns
- 2 - you will note that I objected to the insinuation that my admission of not personally knowing about 3 unrelated schools was the basis for an argument against the proposal I put;
- My reversions 3, 4 and 5 in regards to refactoring his attempts to belittle my objections to his (and another user's) uncivil comments (for example the above) and to use hidden to hide the reason why I abandoned my proposal, i.e., his uncivil comments.
- His flippant comments such as 6
- "Avoiding anything relevant" apparently means that I object strenuously to uncivil behaviour and unilateral refactoring. Yes, absolutely. That's me. -danjel (talk to me) 15:37, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
