Seasons/Synopsis
editEarly Popularity (Season 1)
editThe series began in 1997, with an introduction to the main characters from Snowboarding School. Slash, Nancy, Jam, Linda and Tommy. The show takes place in a mountainous land of Colorado, during the Winter time (Seasons 1-2). However, the kids are all arguing about their snowboarding skills. The debate escalates to the point where they decide to hold a snowboarding tournament to determine who is the best. One character, Shinobin, has no involvement whatsoever until his annoyance level increases by the kids' arrogance. The Snowboard Kids go head to head with him, to prove who is the ultimate snowboarder of Snow Town.
PS Partnership (Season 2)
editSnowboard Kids gets a renewed season, which takes place in their second semester of Snowboard School. In this season, the show gains three new cast members: Nicole Couch, Pamela Rasteri and Ruby Green. This is due to the new partership with PlayStation, where they added new content to the series during production. In this season, the three characters come together with the veteran Snowboard Kids (who all return this season), to compete in another tournament held by the upperclassmen, Nicole Couch. This is due to the fighting between Linda and Nicole on who is the best snowboarder. Later on, Shinobin returns with his sister Kaede to compete as well.
Highest Peak & Demise (Season 3)
editIt's a whole new year in Snowboard School. All the veteran Snowboard Kids have returned, along with the introduction of new characters: Wendy Lane, Damien and Coach. Pamela, Nicole, Ruby, Shinobin and Kaede don't return to the show. This is due to the loss license of PlayStation with Nintendo, and which causes their contracts to expire without Approval optional. Shinobin and Kaede leave the show by choice.
This season brings in a main Snowboard Kids member, Wendy Lane, who is a computer whiz that sometimes causes mischief for the Kids. This season also introduces the new antagonist, Damien, who tries to prank the Snowboard Kids for fun.
After this season ended in 2000, the show got canceled after airing 39 episodes. This is probably due to the absence of the new characters from Season 2 being cut. Plus, the creators wanted to explore other series to produce, which puts Snowboard Kids on the shelf from production. Since then, there has been a 5 year hold on the series.
Revival (Season 4)
editAfter a 5 year hold from production, the show gained a 4th, and final, season with 13 more episodes. Racdym no longer works with Atlus, which the company now has a parternship with "in-glove Co.". Slash, Nancy, Jam and Tommy have all returned to the show as veterans of the original Snowboard Kids. This season introduces two new characters: Brad Maltini and Koyuki Tanaka. Linda Maltinie, who is another original member, does not return to the show. Linda confirmed in an interview that she would love to return to the show, but she's 18 years old now and feels to old to be called a Snowboard 'Kid' anymore. On the other hand, her younger brother, Brad Maltinie, takes her place in the season as Slash's rival. Wendy Lane return as well (for unknown reasons). In this season, all of the Snwoboard Kids have grown up from the past 5 years, where they are now around the ages of 16-17. This season also showcases the new character of every veteran Snowboard Kid; Nancy is more selfish and arrogant, Tommy is more of a bully and thung, while Slash and Jam are still the same characters.
During this season, the Snowboard Kids compete in a world wide tournament to win victory overall as the ultimate Snowboarder. Later on, they face the coldest snowboarder Jack Frost/Black Frost. In the end where Slash goes head to head with him.
