Beach Nourishment

edit

I noticed your ClueBot False Positive Report where you mentioned being a representative of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association and wanted to make a quick comment. First I'd like to say welcome to Wikipedia! People who have extensive knowledge of a particular area are always in great demand and I'm happy to see that you have decided to create an account and make a substantial change to an article.

It is important to note that there is no "official" version of a page and ownership of a particular article is prohibited by policy. If you submit your edit to Wikipedia people can and will edit your work. Edits must be written from a neutral point of view and can't favor any particular organization. Articles which do not comply with content policies will likely end up either being deleted or edited to bring them into compliance.

I'd also like to point out our conflict of interest policy. It is advised for you not to directly edit articles for which you may have a conflict of interest in except to make minor gramatical and spelling corrections. For any major changes you should post the proposed change on the talk page and ask other editors to review the proposed change for you by using the {{request edit}} template. You may also wish to ask for help on the Conflict of Interest Noticeboard. This eliminates your possible conflict of interest and helps ensure the article is written from a neutral point of view. I have reverted your edit to Beach nourishment since it breaks the manual of style guidelines for the article and represents a Conflict of Interest. I would recommend looking over the organization FAQ page as well as the best conflict of interest practices pages as well as posting the edit to the Article's talk page.

Your edit was reverted by ClueBot because the bot noticed that a large amount of text was removed from the article by a new user. This something which is commonly associated with malicious editing, known as vandalism. Since ClueBot is a software program it doesn't have the same ability as a human editor to distinguish between edits.
