Hi, User:Washburnmav
User:MacGyverMagic, whom is part of WP:GAN suggested a copyedit before The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie could be graded.
I was wondering if you could take a look into copyediting it.
Please reply on my talk page when you get the chance.
Thanx!

vandalism
editits not vandalism, im of the opinion that the user in question should die in a fire , but no you have to cry and baw about it, seriously geta life. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.42.185.73 (talk) 16:12, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi. I reverted your revert on this page. I'm guessing you restored the info because it looked a blanking by an IP vandal. However, the IP made a correct edit. The list is solely for attacks in U.S. territorial waters. The Titanic sank far outside of U.S. territorial waters, so a passenger on that ship is not appropriate for this list. That's good enough for remove "Bessie Walden", but in addition, it seems likely that this person is fictional. I did a quick google search and didn't find any reference to a Bessie Walden shark attack. Given that this person was supposedly on the Titanic, she should show up readily in a search. Just wanted to explain myself. --JamesAM (talk) 16:14, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Your assumption is correct. Sorry about the mix-up. I'm pretty careful but every once and a while one slips by me. You may want to remind that IP that using edit summaries is very important, especially in removing content. Thanks for fixing that. Happy editing! Washburnmav (talk) 16:18, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. I realize that on the surface it looked like vandalism. I've probably made a similar mistakes in my anti-vandal efforts. I'm leaving the IP a note per your suggestion. --JamesAM (talk) 16:25, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Request
editHi, there. I would like to cordially invite you to have a bash at copy-editing Silent Alarm.
Me and Garden got this from a basic template to GA status and now we want to take it to FA.
I would really appreciate your help. Everything else is just-so but obviously another pair of eyes is needed because it's hard to copy-edit your own work to the standards FA reviewers want. Rafablu88 (talk) 08:33, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- I will add it to my list. No promises, I'm fairly busy at the moment but I may have time to take a crack at it. Washburnmav (talk) 12:52, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- That's great, thanks. Rafablu88 (talk) 13:04, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
<-- Many thanks for starting the CE. Just a heads up, we've written the article in British English so the dates follow that convention. Everything else is fine though. Looking forward to your finished job. Rafablu88 (talk) 09:20, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Silent Alarm copyedit
editIn reference to the dates - I think that, because the article is in British English, the dates should remain in DD MM YY format (12 March 2005 as opposed to March 12, 2005) even if the second is arguably more aesthetically pleasing. weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 09:31, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, apologies, it seems Rafa already informed you of that convention ^^; Sorry! weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 09:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Haha. I think we should let the guy finish and stop nannying. We can always change them afterwards. Not a big deal at all. Rafablu88 (talk) 09:35, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hey no worries guys, that was my fault. I'm not as versed on British English as I should be, so this copyedit will be a little tougher for me. I'm gonna read up a little on the British formatting and rules and jump back in. Please continue to check my changes for accuracy though, and change anything I screw up along the way. Washburnmav (talk) 15:07, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hehehe, it's no bother. ;) weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 15:09, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

editsomeone must be talking about you! ;> User talk:Xeno#Wikipedia: on the treatment of vandals –xenotalk 22:51, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well glad to see I'm still the posterchild of vandal-> contributor conversion. Although I fear that I may be a very isolated incident... but still good evidence that it is worth being civil and giving them a shot. Are you still giving this at every RfA? How many of them voted to give me a chance?Washburnmav (talk) 16:52, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed... I've unblocked a handful people after a 2nd chance but you're the only one who ever really stuck around and are still contributing. I don't (or very rarely) ask the question anymore (I see others do once in a while)... I'd say opinions were about evenly divided on how to proceed. I do point to it whenever I'm trying to argue that vandals shouldn't be entirely written off and can be coaxed into becoming contributors. –xenotalk 16:59, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
editHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
WikiProject Dentistry -- Update
editHey there! Over the past year or so, the WikiProject Dentistry has fallen into disrepair. Dozenist hasn't been around in nearly 2 years, and after some email communication, he's indicated that he's no longer interested in heading the project. In fact, the project has been labeled inactive since November 2010!
My plan is to focus less on internal bureaucratic policy and more on article creation, article clean-up and article maintenance. That's why people use Wikipedia to search for dental topics -- because it contains wonderfully explained, wonderfully formatted information on relevant topics, not because there are 5 dental articles featured as GA or 7 articles featured as such. So if that's what you like, don't let me stop you, but I think the focus should be on, as I said, article creation and article maintenance.
I welcome all comments, questions and suggestions. If you're new and you'd like help, I'll try to guide you. You can check out my latest few articles: Underwood's septa, platform switching, Bone remodeling period, Cone beam computed tomography, C-terminal telopeptide and furcation defect. You cannot imagine how many dental students I come across at Columbia who tell me they utilize Wikipedia on a weekly basis, but find that there are not enough articles on dental subjects. So let's get out there are create well written, well sourced articles on dental topics. Have a great day! DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 12:49, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
