External links - conflict of interest
editYou have added an external link to the site MobileWise to the articles Devra_Davis and Mobile phone radiation and health. Since you are a trustee of this organization, it is considered a conflict of interest (CoI). I paraphrase the CoI policy (so click the "conflict of interest" link and read the actual text for complete accuracy), but it is possible that persons in a CoI might be the only WP editors aware of information that could be useful to an article. In such cases, it is considered good form to bring the matter to an article's Talk/Discussion page, to acknowledge the CoI, to make a case for the inclusion of the information, and to let other editors without a CoI adjudge the matter. In the case of the Devra Davis article, the information is relevant and that it adds to the article, and I — with no CoI — have taken the liberty of adding it in-line to the article body with the external link as a reference (see the talk page for more). In the case of Mobile phone radiation and health, the link does not add anything already stated in the article by more medically reliable sources (click link for more information on this policy), and have removed it again from the article. I trust you take these comments in the friendly spirit with which they are intended. PS Re the recent IARC decision, please contribute to the discussion about how to add the information to the Mobile phone radiation and health article, about which there is already a lengthy discussion on the article's Talk page, before adding it directly yourself. The article is tagged as "The subject of this article is controversial and content may be in dispute" and has many passionate contributors (disclosure: I am among them). In such circumstances, it is advisable and again good form to use the Talk page to discuss proposed changes. --papageno (talk) 16:29, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
