Welcome!
editHi, and Welcome to Wikipedia! First of all I wanted to thank you for divulging outright that you were hired to do some cleanup on Sony Pictures Classics. Many of your colleagues don't have the same courtesy. I have edited the article to make it more in line with our policies and I wanted to provide some feedback in case you ever need to edit an other Wikipedia article.
- First of all, Articles need to be sourced. That usually means that you need to provide References for any claim that might be challenged (for example the Oscar nominations).
- Articles must strictly abide to the neutral point of view policy. I know this can be mind boggling when you are doing PR work, but you can't say "some of the best and most successful independent films" unless you have multiplemainstream sources saying so. Be extra careful of weasel words, and don't write something that would not be accepted in a paper encyclopedia.
I hope this helps! Happy editing. -- Luk talk 20:12, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi again. I have several concerns regarding what you told me. When submiting content to Wikipedia, you implicitly accept our Terms of Use and irrevocably agree to release your contributions under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License 3.0 and the GNU Free Documentation License. That means that if the content you added is copyrighted by SPC, you have accidentally released some of their intellectual property under a free license without their consent. Can you please come back to me ASAP if that is the case so I can remove this content from public view before someone else reuses it.
- Please also keep in mind that Wikipedia is a Wiki. Content submitted to the website can, and will, be mercilessly edited by other editors in order to improve it and to make it more in line with our policies and guidelines. The version you submitted is not suitable for Wikipedia.
- Regards, -- Luk talk 09:34, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- Please have a look at our protection policy, you will see that we do not routinely protect pages. -- Luk talk 20:38, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Tamaradreweposter.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Tamaradreweposter.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 02:28, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Womangunnoodleshop.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Womangunnoodleshop.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:36, 9 August 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 21:36, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Womangunnoodleshop.pdf
editThanks for uploading File:Womangunnoodleshop.pdf. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 13:43, 12 August 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:43, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Problems with upload of File:InsideJobPoster.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:InsideJobPoster.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

License tagging for File:OfficialInsideJob Poster.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:OfficialInsideJob Poster.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:07, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:OfGodsAndMenPoster.JPG
editThank you for uploading File:OfGodsAndMenPoster.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Armbrust Talk Contribs 19:55, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Film and country of origin
editHi! I appreciate your desire to improve film articles on Wikipedia. Regarding the poster and release date in the infobox, please see Template:Infobox_film#Release_dates. In short, the poster should be from the country of origin, and release dates only the earliest dates. American posters and dates should only be used for articles on American films. Smetanahue (talk) 20:08, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
- Please stop readding foreign posters to film articles! If you want to change the practice, start a discussion about it at Template talk:Infobox film. Smetanahue (talk) 17:44, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.sonyclassics.com/pomwonderfulpresentsthegreatestmovieeversold.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:25, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Non-free rationale for File:TAKESHELTERposter.JPG
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:TAKESHELTERposter.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable.
