Second. And I think I'm the real sleepy one, I'm not quite sure how I justified that wording when writing it (on the 1989 election page). :D Orderinchaos 06:16, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notocypraea angustata

edit

You've just made a change to Notocypraea angustata, claiming that Cypraea angustata var. subcarnea Beddome, 1896 actually is a synonym of Notocypraea subcarnea (Beddome, 1897). This could well be. I've explained the situation to and asked confirmation at the database World Register of Marine Species. This database, maintained by the best mollusc taxonomists in the world, has been helpful to our queries many times in the past. Thanks for noticing a possible (professional) mistake. Thanks. I'm quite familiar with subcarnea and its taxonomy and read the original description when writing a small paper about it. I also sent WoRMS an email about the error last night and suggested they also review the synonymy of the other listed angustata synonyms - I believe some of the others (albata at least) are also subcarnea synonyms but am unsure which were formally listed as such in the Lorenz paper. One of these days I may get around to starting an N. subcarnea page here.Therealsleepycat (talk) 03:26, 6 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Great. All help to our project is welcome. Meanwhile, I've received an email from WoRMS that they've forwarded my email to an expert. JoJan (talk) 12:46, 6 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:21, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
