Hi,

Hi. Are you going to be a BOT? If not we'll have to get you to change your name, sorry. Secretlondon (talk) 19:18, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
Why do you want to change my name? I like robots so i call myself thecharliebot.
--Thecharliebot (talk) 19:23, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- You are only allowed to call yourself -bot if you're an actual bot! Wikipedia:Username has more details. We block people who are called -bot who aren't bots as -bot is special here and is only used to identify Wikipedia's robots who do basic admin on the site.
- I'm sorry (I like robots too!) This is the block message people get which explains it better. However I'd rather you changed your name. Go here to do that. Thanks. Secretlondon (talk) 21:09, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
That isn't fair and why are you called secretlondon? You aren't secret and you aren't London. So you need to change your user name to . :(

- Words ending in -london are allowed. We have a strict rule that words ending in -bot are not allowed. The only things that are allowed to end in -bot are Wikipedia:Bots.
- "A bot (derived from 'robot') is an automated or semi-automated tool that carries out repetitive and mundane tasks in order to maintain the 3,887,840 articles of the English Wikipedia."
- Sorry :( Secretlondon (talk) 21:49, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
I made a word called bot and it means cool so I don't have to change my user name. If you keep bothering me I'm going to ignor you.
Blocked
editSorry but I tried.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.
