Hakeem Article
edit"Please see WP:OR and don't replace sourced info you don't agree with, with unsourced Original research."
How heavily sourced should it be? Source per sentence, paragraph, section? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.190.73.79 (talk) 05:31, 30 March 2007 (UTC).

Hey, just wanted to let you know I reverted your edits on the article. I thought it flowed better before, and you should mention what college he went to in a new section (since you should assume some people might skip sections using the Menu Guide). The term forwent isn't of my own original writing, I just think it actually sounds better. Just letting you know so you don't get offended or anything, I appreciate the copyedits...as I'm looking to pass this through GA once I've fixed up the legacy and post-basketball life. Any recommendations and help is welcomed. Thanks bro. =) Zodiiak 02:47, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Peer review
editHey Tayquan. There's still a few things to do from the peer review suggestions. What's your take on the table of contents for 50 Cent? This could change, but so far I don't see any headings or subheadings that need to be reduced. Spellcast 15:32, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- But the lead is only meant to be an overview of the article. I think specific information like that should be kept for later in the article like in The Notorious B.I.G., which also mentions him starting during the 1980s' crack epidemic at an early age. It should also include his business ventures. And I think words like "success/successful" should be kept to a minimum (show, don't tell). In the Biggie article, an admin removed those words, citing it as peakcock terms. Also, I noticed a video you added is from onsmach.com. Are you sure that's not a copyvio? Unless the TV network that broadcasts 106&Park released it on there, it should be removed as it's no different to citing a youtube page. And as for that ref format? I'll ask a few admins about that. I doubt they all need a retrieval date. I'll keep you posted... Spellcast 16:09, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- My bad. It was added by Prisonbreak12345. Spellcast 16:27, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
I received 2 replies in regards to whether refs need retrieved on dates. Although many FAs have them, there's no guideline or policy that says it's compulsory. There are other FAs that don't have them like Douglas Adams. And look how inconsistent the refs are on the GA Richard Dawkins page. Nobody is gonna hold the article back because they don't have those dates. Besides, all the refs on 50 Cent are already in the same format. Spellcast 13:20, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ok I guess websites need retrieval dates. Anyway, moving on. I wanna bring up that hidden message in the intro. You originally added that because someone made this edit. That edit was blatant POV. Back then, this is what the article said about the shooting: He was shot in the hand (a round hit his right thumb and came out of his pinky), arm, hip, legs, chest, and left cheek. Notice it didn't have the sentence He was shot nine times- before it. That person's edit summary said changed summary to reflect that he wasn't actually shot 9 times (read rest of page), yet this is what he added on the intro: 50 was shot "at nine times (with three bullets hitting him)." That clearly isn't what it said under the 'Shooting' section back then. Looking back, that hidden message should have been removed long ago. It's magnifying a "dispute" that doesn't exist in the first place. Spellcast 02:46, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Because that hidden message is giving the illusion that there's an actual controversy about those numbers, when there isn't. This whole thing about him being shot 9 times vs shot "at" 9 times was never published in any reliable sources. It came from people who simply don't like the guy. Give me one reliable source that mentions a genuine dispute. Spellcast 05:55, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Tayquan, don't know if you're still active, but I think it should pass as a GA now. I think everything was addressed in the peer review, so it should be fine. Spellcast 16:10, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

editHi Tayquan. Two responses at the bottom of my talk. Cheers, Marskell 18:07, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Your Signature
editHi Tayquan, your signature markup is very long when it displays in edit boxes and is a little disruptive. I messed around in my sandbox and I believe that: TayquanhollaMy work
will display exactly the same signature, but less than a third of the text in editboxes. Let me know what you think. GoodnightmushTalk 02:19, 23 May 2007 (UTC) 21:11, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

- Look at my sig now, I changed back. Tayquan and holla don't touch. Also, the holla is still blue. Tayquan hollaMy work 03:08, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

How about: Tayquan holla My work If that doesn't work I'm stumped. Very long signatures (4 lines) are strongly discouraged though so I encourage you to try and do something to shorten it if that doesn't. GoodnightmushTalk 02:19, 23 May 2007 (UTC) 03:25, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Talk pages
editI tried to remove all of the crap that was going on at the Dr. Dre talk page because talk pages are not meant to discuss (it was all discussing who was better, 2Pac or Dr. Dre, discussing how he was/wasn't a fake studio gangster, etc.) the subject, they are meant to discuss on how to improve the article. You guys might want to check what you are reverting, as you also removed one of my comments concerning something in the article. --- 72.142.212.28 23:12, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Just so you know, I technically only had one warning for vandalism (yours), as for Lil Ghetto Boy I tried to fix the single infobox (or whatever it is called), as there was a sign that said someone should do it. I just messed up and a bot reverted it thinking it was vandalism, but I fixed it later, as you can see now if you take a look at the article. --- 72.142.212.28 23:15, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- That's my bad, most of what you removed was trolling. You did remove one topic that was borderline (the one I commented in). Tayquan hollaMy work 03:01, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

LeBron James, Darfur, et cetera
editYou made an excellent point on the LeBron James talk page about the disproportionate coverage of his refusal to sign the Darfur petition; I added just one more sentence, only to give some context as to why his refusal generated such criticism. It's still much shorter than it was before you trimmed it down, so I think this is an appropriate compromise. Agreed? Raggaga 19:02, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
