Hi Carolyn, this is Marco, your professor in Media & Democracy. I see that your link from your user page to our class is not correct. If you want to see how to do it, you might want to check my user page. As an assignment for tomorrow you can also leave a message on one of your colleagues' user page and add our course page to your watch list.Mdseriis (talk) 02:45, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Your username
editGreetings and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed your username is also website. Whether or not that was your intention, the username policy does not permit promotion. Realizing that this could be pure coincidence, I recommend you follow the instructions here to request a username change; it should only take a few minutes. Thanks and regards, Tyrol5 [Talk] 21:14, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
- I am not associated with the website that you think I am. I have created this account for a class project. This has absolutely nothing to do with it at all.
- I never said you were associated, just that the username might suggest that you were. While you're not required to change your name per my prior comment, doing so to avoid future confusion might be helpful. Thanks and good luck with your project, Tyrol5 [Talk] 21:45, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Welcome to the Wikipedia Education Program!
editHi, Tang.ca!
On behalf of the Wikipedia Education Program, I wanted to thank you for taking the orientation. I'm glad you liked it, and I hope you'll feel free to refer back to it while you're making your first edits. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your Ambassador for any help or advice. Welcome to Wikipedia, and I hope you enjoy your unique assignment! JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 21:22, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Message from your Online Ambassador
editHey. I saw that your class is starting to add edited articles to Education Program:Northeastern University/Media and Democracy (2013 Q1). Instead of adding the full URL, only add the title of the page and the section name, the hashtag (#) denotes a section of an article, if you are using one. For example, http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Jackie_Hudson#Activism would become Jackie Hudson#Activism or http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Margaret_McKenna would become Margaret McKenna. If you do this, the links should work. If you have any questions feel free to email me or ask on my talk page. Best of luck on your projects. --Guerillero | My Talk 06:36, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
Help us improve the Wikipedia Education Program
editHi Tang.ca! As a student editor on Wikipedia, you have a lot of valuable experience about what it's like to edit as a part of a classroom assignment. In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it's extremely helpful to hear from real student editors about their challenges, successes, and support needs. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions by clicking below. (Note that the responses are posted to a public wiki page.) Thanks!
