Capture of Kufra (South Eastern Libya) and raids on South-Western Libya (1941)

edit

Greetings Sylevien, do you have a reference for the edit on Capture of Kufra? Keith-264 (talk) 13:14, 15 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Keith-264,
First of all, sorry for my poor English as I am French...
When I read the article "Capture of Kufra", I wondered where was the Kayouge meeting point where d'Ornano and ten Free French met Clayton′s LRDG patrols on 6 January 1941 before raiding the Fezzan South-Western region of Libya, far West from Kufra. My father, who is 88 and has well known these regions during the 40's had never heard of a town or village of this name. A research on the Web led me to the place of Kayouge Enneri Wadi which is quite close to the town of Zouar :

I presumed it was the good place because all the French raids towards South-Western Libya where effectively launched from the town of Zouar :

I guess that, because the spies, the French and the British needed a quiet meeting point as the Kayouge Enneri Wadi.
If you don't agree with my interpretation you can modify my note as you like, maybe by simply adding "The Kayouge meeting point might be the Kayouge Enneri Wadi etc..."
Regards
