Hi there again. Yes, the copyright release you have added to the source webpage will do the trick and it is now OK to use the text on Wikipedia. You will need to make some changes to it though as to be an encyclopaedic article it will need to have a more global outlook - it is currently very US centric & at the moment is more an article on "Furniture banks in the US" rather than "Furniture banks". You will also need to make sure that the article has a neutral point of view and you will need to include citations from reliable sources to back up the statements you have made and to show why furniture banks are notable. So, the issue was that it violated US copyright laws. You can take a look at WP:COPYRIGHT for more information. I see that you had marked that you had cleared the violations, but when I reviewed the article it still matched the original text. If there was any reformulation, it was very minor and did not remove the copyvio. If you are owner, you can allow it to be published in Wikipedia; however, there are some specific guidelines that need to be followed. When I received the first copyright message for automatic deletion last evening, I followed a wikipedia link that suggested that I add wording to the supposed copyright-infringed page stating my permission to use the text under the GDFL and "Creative Commons ..." license. I got the impression from this link that this was the recommended course of action. Tonight, as I search for that link / reference, I can't find it. I'm not sure about Europe or other continents, but less than 25% of the U.S. population knows what a furniture bank is or that any exist. I am simply trying to advance the public awareness of such a good concept (much like food banks, which article exists, is VERY SIMILAR to mine, but doesn't get deleted). I think I will simply pass on a wikipedia article, as it is much easier to use other internet tools to spread this message.

I sincerely wish I could speak with someone on the phone about creating a successful article submission. This is one instance where automated is not better. I have genuinely tried to follow the advice and rules I have seen, and my article sure seems in keeping with the "food bank" article, but yet you keep rejecting mine. I have several hours invested in this so far, and I'm still very confused. I don't typically have these challenges, and can't seem to figure out how to make this simpler. Sorry about your frustration, but the when articles are taken from existing text, Wikipedia is very careful not to impact those that might not what to see their works in Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you what happened to the copy permission you created. If you want you can follow up with an Admin. I can point you in the right direction if you are interested. There is no way to talk to anyone on the phone about this. All communications are handled via e-mail. Before anything is deleted, it is reviewed by at least a couple of "real" people, so it is not a automated deletion.

It is a shame you will not recreate the article. You can probably accomplish your goal by rewriting it so that it does not violate copyrights or resemble an advertisement. You can create a User/sandbox so that you can edit it prior to uploading it to Wikipedia.

BTW - you might find this amusing, but I have had a couple of articles deleted for variety of reasons. After making some changes, I was able to get them in a form that was acceptable to Wikipedia. The GFDL release was definitely on the furniture bank website yesterday - I saw it with my own eyes! - but it's definitely gone now. Perhaps you need to speak with your webadmin or hosting provider as they may have removed the GFDL for being in conflict with other copyrights on the site or for being in contravention of your hosting arrangement? Nancy, I just checked my webpage, and the GFDL release information is still there. I am the creator/maintainer of that website myself, and knew I hadn't remove it. Try refreshing your browser page, in case you have an older copy in cache.

So, here is my suggestion.

• Recreate the article in a User/Sandbox
• Remove the hints of Spam/advertisement (See [WP:GROUP] for more information), and then upload it to Wikipedia.
• Add a note that this was created per GNU Free Documentation License in the talk/Discussion section of the article as stated on your webpage.
• When the Bot marks it as a possible CopyVio, remove the tag and in the Edit summary refer to the GNU Free Documentation License text as stated on your webpage

Thanks for your continued efforts, but lack of time and confidence are causing me to stop at this point. I am president of the second-largest furniture bank in the US, and have got too many other things to attend to in this economy. I understand Wikipedia's right to control content in whatever way they wish. In my case, it's not worth the effort.
