- PS: I've added a template to your Sandbox just to show that that particular section has been copied from elsewhere in Wikipedia. That's for attribution purposes, you don't need to do anything. Happy editing! — O Fortuna semper crescis, aut decrescis 08:02, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi! I now added a note to indicate from where I copied the text I am revising. If there is a better way of preparing an article in contrast to what I am doing now (Collecting sources and revising in user space) I'd be glad to know (The template and the tagging as possible self-promotion may indicate I may be doing it wrong!) --Simulo (talk) 13:39, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
Wheelchair-bound vs wheelchair-using
editHello. I noticed you were changing the terms wheelchair-bound
to wheelchair-using
here: 1 2 3. Can you tell me why you are changing it? -- DaxServer (talk) 10:40, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @DaxServer:, thanks for asking. As far as I am concerned, the term "wheelchair-bound" is seen as outdated and does not describe well how people use a wheelchair, as people are not 'bound' or 'confined' to it, but actually just use it to move around (E.g. people who get around by walking are not 'leg-bound').
- If the changes are a problem I can stop doing the changes when I come across them, but I would be happy if "wheelchair-bound" could be changed to "wheelchair useing", as it is both more descriptive of- and more respectful to wheelchair users. -- Simulo (talk) 08:15, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- Would you be able to post in Wikipedia:Teahouse and ask if there is a consensus of using the terms? If you did, please also ping me in the post, so that I can follow it as well! -- DaxServer (talk) 10:43, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- I did ask and pinged you. (Link might expire when Teahouse archives) -- Simulo (talk) 14:01, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
