The refusal to accept Draft:Ethelyn Gibson shocks me and appears counter to policy. Would you be able to help dig up some good nespaper coverwge of her so she can move to mainsapce? Thabks again for all your help. If you're busy no worries and I understand if you are doing other projects. Regards. FloridaArmy (talk) 01:56, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
- I think I'm done with the article. What do you think, @FloridaArmy:, @Whisperjanes:? SilverserenC 00:22, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! In the Lord Heath source her original family bame is said to be Strouse. And he parents and siblings are identified. I'm not sure how reliable that source is considered but it seems legit. Can we (ie. you) confirm? FloridaArmy (talk) 02:28, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- @FloridaArmy: There's a list of sources at the bottom of that article, so I'd just use those instead. It looks like the family stuff came from the FamilySearch website, which contains census information. Which is reliable, yes. I'd just cite it directly rather than this other person's personal site. Hmm, @SusunW:, think you could help with this one too? SilverserenC 02:33, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- I think the article looks great. Thanks so much, Silver seren, for adding all that content. @FloridaArmy: I do wonder about the family name "Strouse", as well as the date of death - I can't find an Ethelyn (or Ethel) Strouse in Ancestry.com or FamilySearch records that was born in Ohio in 1897. There are a couple Ethel Gibson's born that year in Ohio, but none that seem related to a "Strouse" name (and no way to tell if any are her). I believe the 1897 Ohio birth is correct, since a 1920 census that includes her and her husband says she was born in Ohio, and specified her age as 23 (and there was at least one newspaper article that referred to her as 14 in 1911[1]). Since I can't find it in other sources, I feel like it's likely that the "Strouse" name originated from a marriage index between a "Roy Weisberg" and an "Ethelyn Strouse" on January 22, 1916, from Cook County, Illinois. It's possible they were married there, since Chicago is where Weisberg/West was from in the U.S. However, unless we can verify that that was the date of their marriage, I think it's better not to include the name Strouse - I'm just not sure if that's the same Ethelyn or not. Other than that, the lordheath website mentioned the date of 1972 death was incorrectly written in sources. I know this book mentions that death date, but I'm not super sure where the date originally came from. So if it isn't widely printed or there aren't other sources other than that one, I might err on the side of caution with that too and remove it from the article. But I think that date could go either way - so, thoughts? - Whisperjanes (talk) 06:19, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Silver seren and Whisperjanes:, sorry, had an entire day of family emergencies. Since we are far flung across the globe, it was a lot to deal with. But, thank goodness for technology. I'll look around and see if I find anything more than Whisperjanes, but her research looks pretty thorough. SusunW (talk) 13:59, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Wow, this one is really hard. I tried to see if I could make any connections between Horatio/Robert/Ruben Strouse and Ethelyn Gibson. Nothing at all in any sources. Tried to find an obit for Billy West and no go on that either. Found this which says she made the first sound serial. Looking for a non-snippet view so I could backtrack to the source (footnote 22) I found this link, but can't get to the notes or 386. I found an alternate copy of that source here, but it requires a program called DJVU to open the formatting. I have no clue what that is. According to this she produced that sound serial for Gibson Productions. This may have a bio on her. Perhaps research exchange or clicking on one of the "ask a librarian" links here might get you pages 98 and 99. Gotta go. My mom is enroute to the ER. SusunW (talk) 16:17, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Geez, I don't know what's going on, but I hope everyone ends up okay. You didn't have to do all that while dealing with personal crises, Susan. Thank you for it, but still. SilverserenC 16:21, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks Silver seren. I thought it might relax me a bit and diffuse the stress to focus on research. Just as I finished typing the stuff I found they messaged that she was enroute, so it obviously escalated. Still no clue what's going on, but I kinda doubt I'll be back until we get answers. SusunW (talk) 17:27, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- I hope everything goes alright, SusunW. Thanks for the research help - I hope it helped diffuse some stress, as you said. But either way, I'm thinking about you and your mom and wishing for the best. - Whisperjanes (talk) 05:17, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

What do the archives tell us?
Greetings Silver seren. Any chance you could peek into the past for Draft:Fanny Belle DeKnight and Draft:Susie Sutton? Both seem to have not so many theater and film credits but they span several years and were in significant productions. Open to your thoughts. I was thinking I might have to merge one or both. FloridaArmy (talk) 16:55, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- I can't find anything of note on Fanny, @FloridaArmy:, but there seems to be plenty on Susie, so I think I'll be actively adding that to the draft over time like we've done with past articles. SilverserenC 21:24, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

Thriley (talk) has given you a falafel sandwich! Falafel sandwiches are a specialty of the Middle East. With a little tahini and maybe a spicy sauce, they are delicious and promote WikiLove. Hopefully, this one has added flavor to your day.
Excellent work on Hildegard Binder Johnson!
Spread the goodness of falafel by adding {{subst:Falafel}} to someone's Talk page with a friendly message! Give a falafel sandwich to someone you've had disagreements with in the past, or to a good friend.
Hello Silver
Hello to you too @Missvain, Sorry for the late response, I’ve been down with Malaria, in the last five days, it was quite serious, I couldn’t move or eat in five days just got better today, coming from here which indicated that the same editor created all the articles, this led to the mass nomination I did here, now I think we are forgetting a basic principle for bundle nominating, which is, we bundle nominate when dealing with article spamming/spam articles which the aforementioned report clearly indicated. I’m still recovering from my ailment but I’m well enough to answer any questions you may have for me. Celestina007 (talk) 16:45, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- Furthermore Silver, I’m unhappy you insinuated a proper before wasn’t done, it was, and none of the sources used rose to in-depth significant coverage in secondary reliable sources independent of them thus they all did not meet GNG nor ENT for the model, I’m unhappy you made such assertion which in-fact is incorrect. Celestina007 (talk) 17:24, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- Celestina007 - Sorry you have been so sick, I hope you are on the mend, especially given the holiday season! Since I commented on it as a participant (as opposed to a reviewer) I'll leave it to the closing admin to decide what the best process is for them. Regardless of who the article creator is (even if they are banned, sometimes they create articles for notable subjects whether we like it or not), I prefer to review most articles individually. It's also a less confusing process for reviewers (like me). Missvain (talk) 16:52, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Missvain, thanks Missvain, Gosh!! Malaria is actually a terrible ailment I appreciate your sympathy, I understand your concerns, mass nominations are quite daunting, you are correct, but i checked the articles and they all reeked of UPE and were using the same “Reference trickery” in all the articles where they cleverly use good Nigerian sources but almost all the reliable sources are “unreliable pieces” in almost all the articles. I deemed it bad faith editing & an attempt to game the system, but all the same Missvain, I indeed hear & understand you when you say individual nominations are easier to follow. Celestina007 (talk) 17:28, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

- @Timtrent, I did not see this exchange, before I made this comment at the AFD, if they can’t be civil with their choice of words, then I have to report this to the relevant notice board. Celestina007 (talk) 22:50, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Celestina007 I choose not to do so. I prefer less confrontational methods. I think "have to be reported" are stronger sentiments than I have about it. I see it as a strongly held view, but expressed in a manner not to my taste. I have objected. They have not retracted, but that is unimportant to me. They know my views, even if they disagree with them. The old adage of "Least said, soonest mended" holds true here.

- @Timtrent, if they discontinue the condescending remarks or personal attacks then there wouldn’t be a need to, but if not, I’d indeed notify the relevant authority, I believe we both do not deserve the condescending remarks. Celestina007 (talk) 23:14, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

Your userpage redirect
May I ask why your userpage redirects to User:Silver seren/Userpage? More specifically, I request that you undo that; it breaks the popular User:PleaseStand/userinfo.js script, which assumes your user page is not a subpage. Making it worse, you've apparently got some custom CSS which eliminates or obscures the automatically generated link back to the source of a redirect. We generally give people wide latitude to do whatever they want with their userpages, but what you've got here is breaking useful functionality. -- RoySmith (talk) 16:03, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- It used to be fairly common (like over a decade ago) to have a cool splash image link on your userpage that led into your actual page (which is the one at /Userpage). But eventually the 3D animation I had for that stopped working because of other changes to Wikipedia and, since everything was already at /Userpage, I just redirected my username page to that. And I didn't put together the CSS accomplishing all of that, someone else did it for me. Anyways, RoySmith, what exactly is this script you're talking about and what does it do? SilverserenC 19:04, 26 December 2021 (UTC)

has now been deleted. Fundamentally, i understand your frustration, I am correct to say the article was a product of “Women In Red” ? If yes then I appreciate your indignation. I too would react negatively. MER-C was right to have nuked the articles they did as it was in violation of G5, I understand your resentment towards that tag, but we aren’t in the business of supporting banned/blocked editors so the G5 was apt. - Don't worry. A bunch of us at WiR are actively in the process of restoring the articles on these notable people. And so if they were made for promotional reasons by the banned users, then they're going to exist again anyways. SilverserenC 18:17, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for understanding, I feel sometimes a lack of communication or understanding is the crux of most misunderstandings, furthermore, I want to thank you for your tires-less work at WIR, & I’m also sorry it was my fellow country man who undermined your efforts, if Ugbedeg who is Nigerian as I am also, didn’t create those articles, this problem would never have occurred, as a show of good faith and will, please if you create the articles on the notable subjects, do leave me a message on my tp to review them and I would be more than honored to do so. Thank you for your time and do have yourself a happy holiday. Celestina007 (talk) 21:57, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

The fact was ... that Lou Swarz became famous for her "One Woman Show" involving monologue performances as various characters, including Phillis Wheatley and Sojourner Truth? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lou Swarz. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Lou Swarz), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Karen Ferguson
Hi Silver, if you have the time, can you use your powerful search skills to see if there are any write ups about the two books Karen Ferguson wrote? I haven’t been able to find much. Thank you, Thriley (talk) 20:17, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- Here's what I found, Thriley. A lot more for the Pensions In Crisis book than the other one. And some of these are going to need ProQuest access to see, but the full article is there.
- And then I found a number of things on ProQuest that look to be reviews and other things, but don't show me the full articles. You should take them to Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request, fully formatted as a reference of course, and see if anyone else has alternative access to the below articles.
- BOOK DESCRIBES PENSION PLAN DANGER, HOW TO FIGHT IT
- OFF THE SHELF; Feathering Retirement Nests, With Home Recipes and All
- DATA BANK (This might just be this blurb and nothing more?)
- Employment insecurity puts pensions in crisis
- Everything you wanted to know about pensions
- Curtains for boomers? - Pensions in Crisis by Karen Ferguson
- Economics -- Pensions in Crisis: Why the System Is Failing America and How You Can Protect Your Future by Karen Ferguson and Kate Blackwell
- That's all that I was able to find. SilverserenC 21:10, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- Looks like plenty! I’ll start making those requests. Thank you so much! Thriley (talk) 02:59, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

Just a word to thank you, Silver seren, for your efforts to look into sources and improve the article on June Preston. In spite of earlier threats, I would be surprised if it is now taken to AfD.--Ipigott (talk) 12:38, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
Sorry for causing problems with the Hélène Bergès page. I thought by putting up the {{in use}} I could make multiple edits without ending up with conflicting versions of the page, but that appeared to be wrong. I will step away until everyone else is done. DaffodilOcean (talk) 19:22, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- You can still edit, DaffodilOcean, just do individual additions, not the entire page. It was inevitable that other people were going to start editing the page to improve it once it was added to Articles for Deletion, so trying to make long whole page changes was going to end up with edit conflicts with other people. You should add in any improvements/changes you wanted in steps. I saw the part in your version describing the research she does, that would be good to add again. You can find and copy things from old versions of the history. Here's the version you implemented. SilverserenC 19:26, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- I will add things back later, but I thought that the inuse template would prevent the overwriting. Next time I will know to not rely on that. DaffodilOcean (talk) 19:36, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- The template works, just not usually for things up for deletion, since we're kind of on a time limit to show improvements. :P Sorry, by the way, for interrupting your edit. SilverserenC 19:45, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

There is a mop reserved in your name
You are a remarkable editor in many ways. You would be a good administrator, in my opinion, and appear to be well qualified. You personify an administrator without tools and have gained my support already! |
You are on Wikipedia for over one and a half decades, and have quite some achievements to your name. I'd be willing to nominate you for administratorship in future. Anerisys (talk) 10:44, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
June Preston
@Silver seren: You seem to leaving dodgy and slightly agressive comments on the June Preston and it says above your an "administrator without tools". These were SPS sources, as often they are created by an amalgamation of other sources, in part, for presentation on pinterest. Pinterest doesn't do any checking of sources, so they are suspect at best. Often removing the url doesn't fix the problem. I don't think you see that. You seem have a habit of doing it. They are in there forever. A lot of them are really good comments, but please modulate your tone. scope_creepTalk 08:27, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
- I would still vote support if you did go to rfa as this is entirely minor. scope_creepTalk 16:30, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
- What are you talking about, @Scope creep:? They are news articles published in newspapers from around the world. They aren't SPS sources in the slightest. The Pinterest images of the clippings of the news articles were just a courtesy for readers, since the articles aren't otherwise available online due to not being from digitized papers. But they are still perfectly normal and valid references to normal news coverage of the subject. What exactly do you think an SPS source is? SilverserenC 01:29, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi Silver, can you take a look at New Chapter? I made a quick stub for it recently with the idea I’d go back later to improve it, but it was quickly nominated for deletion. It’s a major maker of organic vitamins and supplements with their products found at Whole Foods etc. It’s definitely a bit woo, but is indeed a major part of the organic supplements world. Media about them is a bit hard to find as their name is often found in unrelated headlines and article bodies. Any help would be wonderful. Best, Thriley (talk) 18:16, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- I took a glance through the various source databases I have access to, but I can't find anything more than what you already have in the article as it is. Apologies, @Thriley:. SilverserenC 23:33, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks Silver! Thriley (talk) 06:21, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
Hi @Silver seren: I was wondering if you any time, you could please take a look at Rosemary Ann Robbins Dobbins. I think she is notable but the article needs some work. Thanks. scope_creepTalk 15:54, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Do you know if there's any alternative names she went by, @Scope creep:? Because, yeah, there's surprisingly little under the name given. Which, sadly, feels like the usual oversight of women and their contributions to major events, which would have still been just as strong during the era she contributed to. SilverserenC 17:50, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Indeed. Not at the moment. Its often seems to be like that. It is NASA, so the info is hidden in the massive bureaucracy of that system. There is no doubt she culturally significant as I recognise a lot of her work, from reading NASA missions when I was younger. I plan to do a bit of work on it to find more on her. scope_creepTalk 12:00, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
