Welcome to the Motorcycling WikiProject. Hopefully you have a good time, start many new articles and can contribute lots to the existing ones as we need that. BTW, I notice you remove posts on this talk page just leaving the headers. You may not be aware that you can set up talk page archiving, either manually or even automated. Leaving just the headers seems rather an odd thing to do but maybe you have a good reason. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 04:44, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yup, I have quirky ways of doing things. Good reason, nope, just the way I remind myself how much time I waste here. Saltysailor (talk) 06:27, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Saltysailor! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Celia Heller - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 10:00, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

dear BOT: there are references, you need to inspect your own code. Saltysailor (talk) 16:38, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
The bot does not look for references, it only looks for the BLP Unreferenced Tag, which was present when it left you the message. As for the apparant references, they really aren't sufficient, as none of them directly prove the notability of the subject. Please read WP:CITE, verifiability and Reliable sources to see what is required.The-Pope (talk) 18:00, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Spaceflight portals

Hello! As an member editor of one or more of the Spaceflight, Human spaceflight, Unmanned spaceflight, Timeline of spaceflight or Space colonisation WikiProjects, I'd like to draw to your attention a proposal I have made with regards to the future of the spaceflight-related portals, which can be found at Portal talk:Spaceflight#Portal merge. WikiProject Spaceflight activity

edit

Hello there! As part of an effort to determine how many active editors are present in the spaceflight-related WikiProjects, changes have been made to the list of members of WikiProject Spaceflight. If you still consider yourself to be an active editor in this project, it would be appreciated if you would please edit the list so that your name is not struck out - thus a clearer idea of the number of active editors can be determined. Many thanks in advance!

I have a picture of a sign on I-5 I want to post and I can't seem to do it correctly. The only time I tried it was taken down because I had not attributed it properly - and probably some other things. I asked for direction and got back cryptic instructions. I see your pic on US-30 and seek your help. Thanks in advance. Wm. G. ("Mike") Chapman (talk) 20:43, 13 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Saltysailor. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Isabella Coleman".

Thanks for uploading File:DC10TankerDrop.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

Wildfires project

edit

Hello! You are getting this form message because I have noticed that you have been actively editing pages about wildfires in California. I am trying to recruit some people who might be interested in starting a new wildfire project that focuses on large and notable wildfires. Is this something you would have any interest in being part of? Obviously there is no firm commitment that needs to be made. At the moment, I'm just trying to get a dozen or so people to say they're interested. Please let me know if you have any interest. I have created a project proposal that I would love to hear your opinion of. Thanks!!! --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:38, 31 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive

edit

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
  • updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.
