Hi, I've noticed that you have contributed to some Swedish topics. I'm trying to breathe some life into the Swedish Wikipedians' notice board. My hope is that Wikipedians interested in Swedish topics will watch this page and use it to keep track of ongoing debates and votes relating to Swedish articles, and as a place to list "weak spots" they don't have the time or knowledge to fix, in order to attract the attention of someone knowledgeable in a specific area. Would you consider signing up? / Alarm 30 June 2005 18:53 (UTC)
Image:Maya rudolph.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Maya rudolph.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs 08:43, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Hello PatrikR, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Whale - addmeibb.jpg) was found at the following location: User:PatrikR/test. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 07:10, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm using PDF to JPG. Suggestions on PDF to PNG or SVG?
editI have contributed images that are generated from PDF and converted to JPG. For me, this is easy, and the JPGs are compact and easy to post. Sample images (click to enlarge):
You have added a "bad jpg" or "should be SVG" notice to some of these images. I appreciate the feedback and would enjoy improving the quality of my contributions.
Do you know of an easy way to convert PDFs to PNG and/or SVG?
- Well, googling "pdf to png" found several programs. If I did it, I'd probably do it this way: Display the chart on screen, Alt-PrtScrn, start MS Paint, Ctrl-V, Crop, Save as PNG. (And optionally run the PNG through an optimizer, since Paint apparently isn't very good at making the PNGs as small as they can be. - PatrikR 16:27, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm in the process of converting images over to PNG. Thanks for your earlier input on the subject.--Robapalooza 01:02, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Holy wow!
editAfter two years, I just now learn about {{mi to km}} . I just have to rush into your talk page and thank you profusely for (indirectly) showing that to me on the STS-118 page! All this time I've been going to a conversion site I bookmarked years ago, lol. Thanks! (Are there other templates that do that, such as inches to cm, etc?) Again, thank you! Ariel♥Gold 17:43, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Heh. :) I only discovered these very useful templates recently myself... All conversion templates are listed here: Category:Conversion templates. - PatrikR 18:16, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
This image says "no commercial use" at the bottom. Do you know the author? Can we convince him to upload a new version that is under a free license and allows commercial use? — Carl (CBM · talk) 01:06, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- No, I don't know the author. - PatrikR 02:51, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
