Take a look...

Hi, please be aware of major edits going on at Naji Halabi which you edited. As NPOV enforcement seems needed, you may wish to chime in. I don't know anything about the subject :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raistolo (talkcontribs) 13:53, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Elin_Ek.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Elin_Ek.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 23:12, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I have added a fair use rationale to the image using the {{Non-free use rationale}} template. --Oddharmonic (talk) 17:59, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Jesse Williams (actor)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jesse Williams (actor), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Jesse Williams. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:18, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

The page contained article information on two different people named Jesse Williams; I moved the material to individual article pages and created a disambiguation page at Jesse Williams. --Oddharmonic (talk) 17:41, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:CheleyColoradoCampsLogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:CheleyColoradoCampsLogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 19:41, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Manwich (cartoon)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Manwich (cartoon), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Manwich (cartoon). Could you help with an infobox?

I see that last year you added an infobox to Thimble Islands, which is a nice improvement to the article. Another editor has copied the same infobox for Norwalk Islands which is also a nice improvement, but there's a problem with the way the caption appears, or actually doesn't appear, in both boxes. At least on my computer, the "Geography" label seems to cover up the caption. Do you have any ideas on how we can fix that? If not, do you know where we can ask for help on that? Any help you can give would be much appreciated. Cheers, Noroton (talk) 17:40, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:AlizeDeFranceLogo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --08:54, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:KateDiCamillo.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:KateDiCamillo.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Hammersoft (talk) 21:23, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Sidney George Fisher

Hi Oddharmonic (Melissa),

I just want to thank you so very much for editing my entry "Sidney George Fisher" according to Wikipedia standards and guidelines. You have done a remarkable job. Are you paid to do this?

You are welcome to add a link to http://www.MountHarmon.org. A portion of Fisher's diary deals entirely with life at Mount Harmon, his plantation on the Sassafras River in Cecil County, Maryland, which had been in the family since 1760. Fisher claims to have introduced modern farming methods to the area by fertilizing his fields with lime and guano and making a thorough study of the best way to rotate crops. He describes the appearance of the McCormick reaper and other newly invented farm implements. The difficulties of marketing farm products first by sailing ships from Baltimore and then the establishment of the first steamboat line on the Sassafras River are explained in considerable detail.

The image was orphaned as a result of vandalism to the article where it is used (Ralston Valley High School). I reverted the vandalism and the image is no longer orphaned. --Oddharmonic (talk) 05:11, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Sharan Kapoor

just curious, as you seem to have added the first mention of Sharan Kapoor which is now under discussion as a possible hoax article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sharan Kapoor on this diff [1], do you remember where you got the information from for that? I'm curious on this issue and the related articles being discussed if problem is really with notability rather than hoax. Probably doesn't matter too much in terms of if they are kept or not, but might influence how article author is treated. -Hunting dog (talk) 22:56, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

I apologize for not citing sources better on this article before it went to AfD. I feel the subject was non-notable. --Oddharmonic (talk) 11:54, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

You just did a very nice job cleaning up this article. I must admit to not having the time to properly cite the references I added to facts within the article.
