Thanks for the lammingtons!

I think Wikipedia is awesome! I've been doing minor edits on various pages for many years now, and at last I have finally worked out how to put up a photo/image. It's a bit overwhelming for someone my age (over 60) to grasp all this computer stuff. Now I have started a Wiki account and have a lot I would like to contribute.

Thanks again for the nice welcome!

your signature is not working yet you might need to work out which the thingoes do it...

If you need to find out more, there are many exploratory entry points: - never let it put you off where the might be a problem - just ask...

"you might need to work out which the thingoes do it..." Thanks. I will keep at it! I am not one to easily give up once I set my mind to it. Thanks for the encouragement!

I visualise rowan atkinson offering this advice... WP:SPA might go into some editors minds when they see the user name and edit history - well worth dabbling in other areas to improve the sydney content - also looking at one article or subject over and over can get things out of perspective (sometimes) - there are some very good examples in the australian project where one topic or place or thing does get over-done - the balance is vip JarrahTree 02:28, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I don't want to be an SPA! Can I change my username? I'm sure somebody already has MrBean. I may have overstepped the mark and you are probably seeing hundreds of red flags with my editing. I was not aware about page size limits, is it toolong? I am only trying to put out the information I find for future readers knowledge. By the way I am not related in any way to any of the early settlers I mentioned, only that I walk past the old farm houses every day. I'm glad you have taken the time to send me in the right direction. Sincerely, NorthRyder (talk) 05:09, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

nah no panic - its just get a feel for where someone has had a single article as their main focus - dont worry, no need to do anything, but, where you can wander into adjacent suburbs and check em - some are shorter than anything - just a pre emptive thought - than a request or anything - take it carefully - you may well find that your experience at the main article does in fact give you a good sense of how short in detail some of the adjacent articles are. All of this is a learning process, and some things take time. If you can see where adjacent or even random sydney location articles are very short on something -your experience can help you. Most sydney articles have been done by people who no longer edit - you have a whole city to review ( horrors ) - if you really wanted ... take care.. and keep the sense of humour up JarrahTree 05:43, 5 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Blanking the Macquarie Park page - punishment...

edit

Smash!

You've been squished by a whale!
Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know you did something really silly.

I mean, no offense, but how do you accidentally blank part of a page? But for your other edits...

Crunch, crunch!

My response to User:TheDragonFire300
Whack! Ouch! Thanks for the chips. When you're over 60 with a computer anything can happen. I'm learning, slowly. Thank you. NorthRyder (talk) 01:33, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
