Flag of Azerbaijan

edit

I understand the law has the construction details, but if you look at it from my point of view, who knows what the laws and this technical document could be different. If you see my work on the article Flag of Japan, you will see what I mean at http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Flag_of_Japan#Design. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:56, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

OK. I have to ask you. Article Azeris in Russian Wikipedia has a section about anthropology. The edits of his that I preserved were dishonestly reverted as "vandalism" when they were not. "I suggest the seperation between the two, so unsourced table and Sadval related information have no place here. Neftchi (talk) 19:24, 17 September 2011 (UTC)"

Neftchi, I also think that we should split this into two articles:

  1. Lezgistan (historical concept) or Lezgistan (geographical concept) - about the hisotorical / geographical region called Lezgistan
  2. Lezgistan (political concept) - about the political / irrendentist movement called Lezgistan

What you think?? I think this should be acceptable. --Yerevanci (talk) 23:26, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Karintak

edit

You are not allowed to delete good information on Wikipedia, and you should not delete text without discussion unless it is blatantly bad. This is not the case, and you are in danger of violating the three revert rule on the Dashalty/Karintak article. Continue with this behavior and I will have to report you. If you have genuine issues with the text, discuss them on the discussion page of the article. And I mean genuine issues, not personal POV issues, which you are not allowed to bring into articles. Thank you. --RaffiKojian (talk) 18:04, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

You are clearly not familiar with Wikipedia regulations and you shouldnt take this on me. Nor should you make any personal attacks against me. I politely responded to you in the talkpage of Dashalty article, see here. Neftchi (talk) 21:51, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Could other users check User:MarshallBagramyan expropriation of the entire Kars article.

edit

Could other users check User:MarshallBagramyan expropriation of the entire Kars article. This user constantly erases the other versions of the name of the city Kars in other languages (Armenian: Կարս Kars or Ղարս [ʁɑɾs] Ghars, Azerbaijani: Qars, Georgian: ყარსი Kars, Kurdish: Qers, Russian: Карс Kars) , and only lets the Armenian version of the name to stay (Armenian: Կարս Kars or Ղարս [ʁɑɾs] Ghars). Unfortunately this user's ethnocentric POV pushing by ignoring the history of the city, after the Armenian era, is still allowed to stay. He even defends it in the city article talk page. Could you follow the Kars article and prevent the constant nationalist POV reversals and editions of User:MarshallBagramyan. Thank you.

Mis-representing a source

edit

Your edit on Church of Caucasian Albania, is misrepresented, "These people were the direct ancestors of present-day Azerbaijanis, spoke a Turkic language and adopted the Shi'i brand of Islam dominant in neighboring Iran."
is incorrect.
The source states this, "These people, the direct ancestors of present-day Azerbaijanis, spoke a Turkic language and adopted the Shi'i brand of Islam dominant in neighboring Iran."
which changes the entire perspective of the sentence and does not indicate that the Caucasian Albanians were ancestors of Azerbaijanis, since Caucasian Albanians did not "speak a Turkic language". Your edit on Caucasian Albanians therefore is also incorrect. Hopefully you will correct these errors. --Kansas Bear (talk) 21:16, 11 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I was typing the entire section over myself, so this was an honest typo. However I dont agree with your interpretation of the source. You have taken it out of context. I only used what the source mentioned. First of all the source specifically mention that the Caucasian Albanians were the direct ancestors of Azerbaijanis. This is what the source says, you may not agree, but you are not a historian nor are your interpretations a valid source. I will break the sentences down for you: These people (Caucasian Albanians), the direct ancestors of present-day Azerbaijanis,(this establishes the link between Caucasian Albanians and Azerbaijanis) spoke a Turkic language and adopted (it shows that the Caucasian Albanians were Turkified and Islamized) the Shi'i brand of Islam dominant in neighboring Iran. The mountains remained largely Christian,(it means that the Caucasian Albanians in the mountains of Karabakh remained Christian whilest lowland Caucasian Albanians were Turkified and Islamized) and in time the Karabagh Albanians (note the word Karabakh Albanians, it means Caucasian Albanians who lived in the mountains of Karabakh) merged with the Armenians.(It established a link of Armenification of Karabakh Albanians) This means that the Caucasian Albanians were the direct ancestors of Azerbaijanis but in the 11th century the lowland Caucasian Albanians adopted the Turkic language and Shi'i Islam, while the Caucasian Albanians in Karabakh remained Christian and were Armenified over time. I have not written anything out of the context, but my edits were based on a source. I hope this clears things up. Mursel (talk) 11:31, 12 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

POV ethnic map

edit

OK, first the source is clearly written here. Second, after your notification, I changed the map now it does show Talysh people and the surrounding area of NK is shown as sparsely Armenian-inhabited area. Third, I think it would have been great, but the ethnic composition of Armenia is 98% Armenian and there are only 2 ethnic minorities (Yezidisi and Russians) that exceed 10,000 and there are only about 20 Yezidi-inhabited villages and that's it. If you wanna make a map with just showing one color, go ahead, do it. In my opinion, there's no need for that.--Yerevanci (talk) 20:42, 3 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Stop removing sourced information and adding POV edits. For the Baku Khanate, Encyclopedia Britannica states: "Persian-ruled khanates in Shirvan (Şamaxı), Baku, Ganja (Gäncä), Karabakh, and Yerevan dominated this frontier of Ṣafavid Iran." Why you are removing this is just an example of you pushing Azeri POV on articles. Persian was the official and yet you keep changing it, without sources, to claim Azeri was the primary. File permission problem with File:Baku City Photo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Baku City Photo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:20, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:17, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Mugham Festival

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mugham Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - Kevo327 (talk) 19:36, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
