Anastasio Somoza Debayle

edit

His article says that when running for president in 1974 he outlawed nine opposition parties. Is this inaccurate? Gazpacho 19:47, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure, but he never made Nicaragua a one-party state. There was the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party. Granted, the difference between the two was dubious, but still.

License tagging for Image:Cold War Map 1959.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cold War Map 1959.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:05, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Anti-communist parties

edit

Hi. I notice you created the new category (although it is a bit vague and problematic, it may work). I have National Fascist Party and the category for fascist parties on my watchlist, and I wanted to let ypu note that I reverted your edit on the former: the former is included in the latter, and the latter is included in the new category, so individual inclusion of parties is redundant. Thank you. Dahn 00:40, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi MinnesotanConfederacy. I'd like to request that you start using edit summaries in your edits, as they are helpful for others to determine what the content of your edit is. As you can see from your contributions, you very rarely use them. Thanks. Picaroon9288 00:52, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

WP Indonesia Project

Are you aware of this? Are you aware of the protocols of the formal procedures for creating categories in wikipedia? SatuSuro 04:15, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, I am not. However, if I created inappropriate categories, please feel free to delete them. Josh 04:19, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Before going into an indonesian category - it would be first
  • (1) a good idea to see the official process for reviewing category proposals
  • (2) when in a subject area - see if there is a project where you can propose an idea to the members of that project
  • That way you are less likely to create a reaction that reflects badly on your activities - its one thing to have a bright idea- another if it actually fits into what is already happening! - SatuSuro 04:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Its just that some eds and admins when they see you have already had problems with creating cats - it looks like you havent gone to WP:Category to come to terms with the issues - if you read that, you might be less likely to create them on whim - and a s a consequence will become a more valued member of the wikipedia community with a bit more wisdom of one of the components on what makes it all tick! Somoza

edit

Hi, you placed an NPOV tag on the "Assassination and legacy" section of the Anastasio Somoza García article but did not explain why on the talk page. Though I could see a couple of words you might have a problem with, I think the section is fairly neutral (though the middle paragraph doesn't actually fit into the topic that well). I would encourage you to post a note on the talk page explaining what you think violated NPOV and/or edit the section yourself so we can remove the tag.--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 02:32, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello MinnesotanConfederacy, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Misessuit.jpg) was found at the following location: User:MinnesotanConfederacy. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. EndUN Userbox

edit

Hi, until recently you displayed my EndUN userbox on your user page--I'm glad you liked it. What you may not realize is that on June 29, User:Dmcdevit edited your user page and replaced the code with code more to his her/his liking. Among other things, this action partially and selectively depopulated Category:Wikipedians interested in the United Nations--most likely removing your user name from the category.

I'm disputing the actions of Dmcdevit at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2007_July_1#User:DieWeisseRose.2FUserboxes.2FEndUN. So, please consider having a look and joining in the discussion. Hi MinnesotanConfederacy,

I wonder if Panama was ever an "Other ally of the U.S.S.R."? The US had a good enough relationship with Noriega, having installed him in the '70s, and removed him years after 1980. I don't recall him ever allying himself with the Soviets.

Also, is Jamaica colored non-aligned?

Hi, I don't believe you'll find the English text online. You don't need to do anything in return, although I am curious to learn why you are so interested in it. Unfortunately, I can not translate all of it to you, since there are 179 articles in it. Forgive any spelling mistake made by me. I believe it will be enough to understand and correct any error.
Political Constitution of the Empire of Brazil
In the name of the Most Holy Trinity.
Title I.
Of the Empire of Brazl, its territory, government, dynasty and religion.
Art. 1. The Empire of Brazil it is the political association of all Brazilian citizens. They form a free and independent nation, that does not allow with any other any tie of union or federation that opposes its independence.
Art. 2. Its territory is divided in provinces in the form that it is presently, of which can be subdivided as request the well being of the State.
Art. 3. Its government is a representative, constitutional, hereditary monarchy.
Art. 4. The ruling dynasty it is the one of Senhor D. Pedro I, present Emperor and Perpetual Defender of Brazil.
Art. 5. The Roman Apostolic Catholic religion will persist as the religion of the Empire. All the other religions are allowed in its private or domestic cul, in houses destinated to that purpose, without any form of exterior temple.
An observation of mine: the article 5 was effectively a dead letter. There were jewish and protestant temples in Brazil and many others were opened during the Empire. Since both Brazilian Emperors, as well as the politicians and even the society, were very tolerant, nothing was ever done against the ones who were not catholics.
I will translate other pieces of the constituon once there is more time since I am very busy working at Pedro II of Brazil article. --Lecen (talk) 19:41, 19 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:New Cold War Map 1980.png

edit

The file File:New Cold War Map 1980.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused raster image not used to create the corresponding [[:File:Cold War Map 1980.svg |vector image]] and thus is not needed for attribution purposes

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
