- Oh and I forgot to mention, you might like to consider creating an account on Wikimedia Commons. When contributing photographs, uploading to the Commons has the advantage that it allows editors on the other language wikis to use the picture easily. The link you add to English Wikipedia remains exactly the same. -- Solipsist 08:57, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

California photo requests now by County
I saw your name at Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Photographers. I just spent the past few days moving all the California photo requests into County categories to make it easier for photographers to locate requests in the locations where they take photos. Please consider monitoring and adding your name to the list at Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Los Angeles County, California. GregManninLB (talk) 21:26, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Image location
Mfield, I as using Image:Los Angeles downtown sunset cityscape.jpg on the List of tallest buildings in Los Angeles. I would like to add the location of where the image was taken to the caption. Can you please let me know from where you took this image? Also, you may want to add the location from where the image was taken to the image description in case other users would like to know this information too. Thank you. Newport image retouches
Thanks for doing that ... I've never really learned how to correct distortion well in my own images (see the original image of Main Building (Vassar College), which someone else corrected), so seeing someone else do it is nice (Any tips on how to do this, or begin to do this, in Photoshop CS2 would be appreciated).
I'm sort of amused at your "blown sky" fixes ... while they certainly enhance the images, the fact is that it was overcast and moody in Newport that day, and the sun almost never actually appeared, so there wasn't a trace of blue. You can get a better idea of what it was like in this picture, which was taken that same day along the south shore of the city (to illustrate Ocean Drive Historic District) and where the fog moves in (I liked taking that picture, and I like looking at it ... makes you want to have a bowl of clam chowder). Upernavik panorama
Hi MField, Do not know if you noticed (or if it is too late), but I gave up on yousendit and all that. Instead I restitched and created some slightly better basis material and saved in 100% JPG quality here without doing any postprocessing. That edit may be of use to you if you still have the time and feel for it. Best wishes, -- Slaunger (talk) 10:40, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Elderly/twang
Hi - thanks for all your help and input so far on the Elderly Instruments article. I'm going to do some more digging tonight on the "twang" issue with a librarian. I'm having trouble sorting out all the articles that just mention "twang" as some kind of country sound and not as an actual genre. I'm confident I can produce some more sources. --Laser brain (talk) 22:43, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
No problems, I hope you understand that my initial intentions weren't drive-by or destructive and that I am trying to help get the article to a point where it can live on the front page unbothered rather than just protesting wildly and doing nothing to fix it. The twang thing would certainly merit from both more citations and cross referencing to other WP articles. Mfield (talk) 22:47, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- I absolutely understand. Thanks again. --Laser brain (talk) 22:48, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi - I was not able to find more than the one source even talking about "twang" as a genre. I personally feel like the source is enough to at least say, "According to the Lansing State Journal..." but perhaps you disagree. There does not seem to be any well-accepted definition of the "twang" genre other than what that particular source writes. --Laser brain (talk) 02:58, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- No that seems reasonable to say "..according to". I'll have a dig around and see if i can find any further reference to twang too. I hope you have returned to find the article in not too much of a disparaging state. Mfield (talk) 03:15, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

TFA review
Hi, I’ve just made a comment on possible reform of the TFA system on Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article. Since you seem to be engaged in this issue I’d appreciate if you had a look and perhaps weighed in. Cheers! Lampman Talk to me! 16:09, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Tulsa Panorama
Hi, good job on the edits you did to the panorama. I was wondering, if the photo achives featured status, if you would upload the new stiched version onto the old page. Thanks --CPacker (talk) 00:52, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, when this process is done and if the Original gets promoted over the Edit then we can upload the Edit over the Original and put a delete request in on the duplicate. The Edit is on Commons though unlike the Original and thus is already accessable to all Wiki projects so we could request a delete of the Original from En:WP instead. Mfield (talk) 00:56, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Cool, Thanks again--CPacker (talk) 01:03, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Graz pano
Hey. Just saw your image change on the Graz article. I'm not actually sure the replacement is a better photo. Definitely more detailed/high res, but the time of day isn't ideal as shadows are a bit strong. Anyway, just my opinion, biased as it is. ;-) Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 18:51, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- PS, are you you travelling Europe at the moment? I'm very much jealous. Great time to be in Austria, with the UEFA Euro champs on too. I'm still stuck working in London. Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 18:56, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, well we'll see if it sticks. I definitely prefer the sky in mine too though ;) There was some nice weather today, I am doing a show at the Schlossberg so I have been wandering round all day - i took a whole bunch of panos and some more images I have been putting on my Flickr[1], this is the first one I finished, unfortunately I was too tired this morning to get up here when the angle would have been more favourable. I might give it a redux and lift the shadows slightly. Mfield (talk) 21:04, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- A show at the Schlossberg? Impressive. Whats on show? How did you arrange that? Yeah, the sky is also nicer in yours, I admit, but at the expense of the city.. Was that a late afternoon shot? Early morning might be ideal. For the record, I also prefer my Clock Tower photo. :-) Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 21:24, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Queens Of The Stone Age - my day job. Mfield (talk) 21:48, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ahhh, I thought you meant you had gallery of some sort showing there.. Are you essentially their official photographer? Noticed on your Flickr site a pretty sizable collection of QOTSA pics... nice way to make a living, although I'm sure it ain't all fun and games. :-) Whats it like? Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 21:54, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- No it ain't :) Yes, I am essentially their official photographer whilst also being production manager. Actually, I prefer my other clock tower photo (FWIW the first one is a really high resolution 5 image stitch) - I am still going through a load here, plus lots of tonight's show :)
- PS: Thoroughly impressed with your QOTSA photos. Nice work. For all the photos you've taken though, you haven't put one up on the band article? Not even one of your less impressive ones? Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 22:03, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks and yes, I must really get round to that actually :) Mfield (talk) 22:07, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

My edit to "Italian Fascism" was not meant as vandalism
I was trying to stop a double redirect in order for "Italian Fascism" to replace "Italian fascism" in which the "f" was not capitalized
I wonder whether, dear recent change patroller, you could be more patient next time and possibly stop to read the edit summary, particularly when it says "refs to come". Wikipedia is not a substitute for a video game. Thanks, Mathsci (talk) 15:50, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

who are you to say that the page has no meaing? Rocky0718 (talk) 04:58, 7 July 2008 (UTC)rocky0718Rocky0718 (talk) 04:58, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Because the subject doesn't have any meaning yet - maybe when it does and it becomes notable, you can come back and create an article about it that. Mfield (talk) 05:04, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
jya so ya deleted my page and this is your talk page, you make me sad, not only can you not spell walrus but you dont respond with witty and relevant material showing you actually read the page, like kinu.Hungry Walrus (talk) 20:27, 7 July 2008 (UTC)hungry walrus

- yep that's the second error in two days that I have seen go by unfixed, is there really no one caring about the accuracy of information on one of the most prominent pages on the WWW? Mfield (talk) 18:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
