Hello, Mehran 232345, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Vahid Mehrinfar, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. hello, Dclemens1971, Thank you for the feedback. To start, in order to benefit from your experience in improving the article, I wanted to ask: you mentioned that the title of the article should be based on a topic discussed in reliable sources. Well, this is true for my article, and there are many references to the subject of the article in reputable sources including academic and specialized sources. I wanted to understand where the issue lies. Mehran 232345 (talk) 14:31, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
The whole article is promotional and I don't think it can be salvaged. The vast majority of sources are not reliable and/or they are connected to the subject. Language like:
  • He is also recognized as one of the renowned and internationally acclaimed designers with a distinctive style.
  • His university talks often explore the intersections of design, branding, business and transformation, inspiring students and professionals to think beyond traditional frameworks.
  • Mehrinfar’s work spans across industries, combining artistic creativity with strategic insight to shape the future of brands.
is marketing fluff that has no place on Wikipedia. Since you are determined to keep this promotional page, I must ask: were or are you paid by the subject to create this page or do you have any connection to the subject? If so, you must declare it. Please read WP:COI for more information about how to proceed. Dclemens1971 (talk) 14:43, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
No I don't have a relationship with him and I don't think any of the sources I've used are related to the person mentioned in the article. Of course, in one or two cases, a press release was used, but it was supplemented with more reliable sources. vahid mehrinfar is one of the geniuses in the Middle East and the united states in the fields of design and branding And his works has been published in the world’s largest publications related to visual arts like Communication Art, which I have also cited as a source here, and I was really surprised to see that he doesn’t have a Wikipedia page.
Regarding the three examples you mentioned:
- The first one is literally the translation of a text from the Alzahra University website (a reliable academic source) about Vahid Mehrinfar. I have fully followed the guidelines and even mentioned in the citation that this is a translation of a specific part of a news article from the university's website. If needed, I can send it to you precisely.
- For the second one, I mistakenly didn’t include the reference, as I was focused on ensuring everything had proper citations.
- The third one is based on a credible reference, and these sources are not directly related to him. For example, Exchange4Media is one of the major media outlets in India for marketing and branding.
With all this in mind, I’m open to using your experience. If the tone cannot be as it is even with sources, I accept that and can remove any such instances. I have no insistence on keeping any promotional tone, this was due to my limited experience, and I am willing to remove them. I’m actually asking for your help and will listen to what you suggest. What surprises me is how such a notable figure in our region doesn't have a Wikipedia page, while I've seen individuals with far less recognition already having a page.
Please continue guiding me. Mehran 232345 (talk) 15:11, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm not going to debate all this with you but a couple quick points: The Alzahra University source is a promotional piece for a conference at which Mehrinfar was to speak; not independent. And the unbylined header of a Q&A interview in an Indian news source is neither independent, nor reliable (see WP:NEWSORGINDIA). If you are new here, please ask at WP:TEAHOUSE and read WP:RS for more on sourcing; there's a lot to learn there. Since you are a new account, I would also STRONGLY recommend that you use WP:AFC to submit articles, particularly if you are unfamiliar with our sourcing requirements. If this page isn't deleted under the criteria for speedy deletion, it will almost certainly be deleted via WP:AFD, and then it will be harder to bring back in the future. Dclemens1971 (talk) 15:23, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
ok, thank you. Do you recommend that I delete the article myself and take action through WP:AFC? Do you think this is the right thing to do? Or do you recommend that I start correcting it as it is right now? Mehran 232345 (talk) 15:33, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
You can move it to draft. (Click on "Page", then "Move" and type Draft:Vahid Mehrinfar. Then click the button at the top to "submit" it for review.) If you do that, I will withdraw the speedy deletion nomination. Dclemens1971 (talk) 15:36, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I will do that, and I am grateful for your guidance. Mehran 232345 (talk) 15:38, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
I added the AfC template at the top. Once you have had a chance to go through and clean up the promotional language, verify the sources are reliable, etc., you can click "Submit this draft for review" and an Articles for Creation reviewer will evaluate it. I'd strongly recommend reviewing WP:MOS as well. Your use of bold text, for instance, is out of compliance with our manual of style, and too many formatting errors will result in a decline at AfC for those to be fixed. I am not convinced this subject is notable, but you'll have a better chance of keeping the article by going through AfC. Drafts remain for six months and that six-month timer will reset every time you edit it. Finally, as an expression of good faith please do not just push the page back to article space without improvements. Dclemens1971 (talk) 15:55, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
sure, thank you. but I clicked the submit button. Can I still make the edits you mentioned now? Mehran 232345 (talk) 16:01, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, you can edit at any point. Dclemens1971 (talk) 16:31, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
thank you for your guidance. So will you withdraw speedy deletion nomination? Mehran 232345 (talk) 16:49, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
I did already on the Draft page. (The old page in main space has to be deleted once it is draftified. Once a page is accepted at AfC or moved back into mainspace, it will reappear there.) Dclemens1971 (talk) 16:54, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Vahid Mehrinfar

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Vahid Mehrinfar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
