Guten tag, Herr Mathmensch! Weil Sie groesstem von meinem Deutsch Wortschatz gelesen haben, the rest of this will be in English! (-; Do you know the meaning of Mensch in Yiddish? It translates as a substantial person, a person of real worth. When I saw your nom de Wiki, I guessed you to be a Jewish-American mathematician from the New York City area, where the memory of Yiddish is stronger than in the rest of the U.S., and there are still a few Yiddish speakers. I did check to verify my hunch, and of course, found it wrong. My name (although obviously in English on my birth certificate) is so German, that German speakers are always amused when they hear it. It's actually somewhat common in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, a frequent destination for 19th century German immigrants. But as you may guess, I'm from the New York City region. Viel spass! A gutn tog! I did know about that meaning, which I discovered after creating my account when looking up my username on the internet; in any case I will try to prove myself worthy of it. (Actually, my username is a pun on 'Marsmensch', which translates to 'alien from mars', alluding to my restricted capabilities to compute humans in advance.) In case you are interested, I will soon start writing a wikibook as an introduction to mathematics, intended to be understandable to everyone. You just have to check out my Wikibooks contributions. It will be named 'Basics of logic and set theory' or something similar.
