editPlease stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Harry Houdini. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Scranton, Pennsylvania. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. If you are connected to someone or something you have written about (a few examples are writing about yourself, your business, your band, a member of your family, your client) then you should be aware that Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages you from writing about that subject. The main reason for that is that experience over the years indicates that editors with such a connection to a subject they are writing about are likely to find it very difficult, or even impossible, to stand back from their writing and see how it will look from the detached perspective of an outsider, so that they are likely to write in ways that look promotional to others, even if they sincerely think they are writing in a neutral way. Also, if your editing forms all or part of work for which you are paid, whether as an employee, as a contractor, or in any other capacity, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to state who is paying you, and what your connection to them is. Request reason:
Requested reply. I am not sure how to use this talk page.I also do not mean or try to spam wikipedia, but just try to add links to verify the information I am adding. I used to try to help add information to wikipedia on subjects in which I am considered an expert, but frankly have stopped most attempts at adding information and facts in these areas because of these warnings. I had thought that adding information that includes links or refs help to assure the editors that what I am trying to add is factual, not of my creation, and not spam. It is very frustrating and has made me hardly ever try to add information that I feel should be there. Again sorry if what I am doing is upsetting this or these editors at wikipedia, which I am sure are needed and necessary. My apologies, but more and more am moving away from this site, as my time, like yours, is valuable, an can be put to more productive use if my trying to help is constantly tracked and deleted. Any constructive help or suggestions would be appreciated. Respectfully Magicusa Magicusa (talk) 10:23, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Technical decline; the block on your account expired by the time I got to read your request. But I would give what JamesBWatson wrote above and see whether that applies to you; conflict of interest is a huge issue in Wikipedia. - Penwhale | dance in the air and follow his steps 00:18, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Dorothy Dietrich, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Cox (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Magicusa. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Dorothy Dietrich, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:45, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
