I am not so new to WP (although I am rather new at following up certain topics at the RS Noticeboard), but I have no idea what the HotCat tool refers to, and what the plus and minus buttons you're referring to there are about. No idea whatsoever, if you can believe me. Like I've been looking at stuff for years around here, but I am still a complete ignorant in some basic technical features of the environment. Would you care to enlighten me in this case? Thanks for a moment of your time for a curious but very ignorant (or technically incompetent?) user. warshytalk 19:30, 10 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
- The term "HotCat" was new to me, but it made sense to me in the context of what I had done. Basically, on the bottom of the "Rudolf Steiner" page, I noticed a list of categories, with a bunch of plus and minus buttons. My intention was to remove the "Pseudoscientists" category from the page (based on discussions on the Talk page and elsewhere, where many users agreed that it was controversial and therefore inappropriate). So I clicked on the "-" (minus) button next to "Pseudoscientists," and that did the trick. I imagine "HotCat" means "hot category [tool]" -- a quick way to add/remove categories. Presumably clicking on a "+" button would allow you to quickly add a category. Macam14 (talk) 19:27, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
- Thank you very much for your explanation. It is now clear to me! Thanks again. warshytalk 14:06, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
