To Pubuhan about unified login
editDear Pubuhan, I am Laurier and I want to have a unified login. Would you please help me and usurp the username Laurier for me? Thank you very much. Laurier (talk) 05:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Re: Office 365
editIt is unnecessary, and I have not seen anyone refer to it like this. Random article text is not the place to introduce abbreviations for terms only used once at all. ViperSnake151 Talk 15:33, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 7
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Afua Hirsch, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Brendan O'Neill (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
editHello, Laurier. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
From a practical perspective, it is better to make changes directly in the text. I rewrite huge chunks of texts. 98% is improvement for the better, 2% for the worse. Have no problem admitting this. I try to look over the shoulders of those making subsequent change and am happy where texts are improved on and beyond! Getting bogged down in endless discussions on talk pages over the 2% de-emphasizes the 98% and also makes it harder to move on to assist other authors and articles. I know you and all others who do so mean only well. You're just very focused on the subject matter at hand. See also User talk:Gidonb#Bruno Ahrends. Instead, just be bold and continue the good work. You do not need my permission. Confusing part is that the name was different. Hans C. van Houwelingen is really a bad name. That's why it receives almost no traction in third party publications. Picking it out from many options highlights the statistician's lack of understanding of naming conventions and wouldn't be respectful to him. The scholar himself is of course free to use whatever names he likes. gidonb (talk) 14:49, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- User talk:Gidonb#Baron de Wael is also telling about my interventions. Being from the Netherlands you may enjoy the discussion and the title-linked AfD. I enjoy the eclectic editing. Your article was already good, just could use a helping hand. Showing a case where an article was unjustified. gidonb (talk) 15:22, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you, this is a good solution. :-) Laurier (talk) 16:30, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
July 2019
editPlease do not add or change content, as you did at Metabolic syndrome, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. If you're going to edit medical content, 1) read WP:MEDRS so you know the quality of sources expected, and 2) learn how to format a journal reference, explained further in WP:REFB and WP:MEDHOW. Zefr (talk) 15:24, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks! I thought these references were okay, but I didn't read the Medhow-page, so I will, or won't add a reference to a medical page without reading it first. Laurier (talk) 15:40, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

editHi, the text was added by a blocked troll and if you read it carefully, you'll see he slipped a line in the middle referencing me and another user. So please do not restore what was added. Sro23 (talk) 14:51, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I see it now, thanks for letting me know, I won't interfere anymore! Sorry! Laurier (talk) 14:55, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

Your edits on Ghana
editHi Laurier, please I wanted to explain why your edit in the "see also" section of Ghana was reverted. In the own words of WikiProject on the structure and guidelines for writing and editing articles on countries, the "('See also" sections of country articles normally only contain links to "Index of country" and "Outline of country" articles, alongside the main portal(s))". Your edit on the see also section of Ghana deserved to be in a sub article like Illegal immigration to Nigeria or Ghana Immigration Service. Kwesi Yema (talk) 13:14, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Kwesi Yema, thank you for your explanation! I still think it is an interesting theme to add, but not in the 'See Also'-section. I understand. Laurier (talk) 15:46, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Flammable objects
editHoi Laurier--one ping is enough, if you're going to ping me in an edit summary. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 14:36, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Drmies, Oh, right, I did mention you twice on Sons and Other Flammable Objects & the Talk Page with a link to your user page. Unnecessary. I'll try to refrain from doing that next time. Laurier (talk) 19:58, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
