Water slide page
editOn March 13, 2024 I added a paragraph to expand the information about body slides. You declined my change based on "advocacy" but I respectfully dispute this. I noted that the page is primarily focused on Proslide and WhiteWater West companies and their products. As an example, the header called Aqualoop is specifically a trademarked product from WhiteWater West. As a second example, the page refers to ProSlide Tornado. Based on this information, I think it is appropriate for my addition that discusses a smaller body slide - designed for kids - that was not included on the page. My addition is adding value because there was no previous mention of any smaller waterslides for kids. Note that the Wikipedia page is Vortex Aquatic Structures International and it is a credible company. Can you please review your position and reactivate the text. Thank you. TLJstone (talk) 12:23, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hello TLJstone,I undid your edit as it seemed to promote Vortex Aquatic Structures International. I do not doubt it is a credible company, however Wikipedia is also meant to be written in a neutral point of view. After reviewing the edit, I realize this may not have been your intent, but the way it was written suggested it was referring to the slides made specifically by Vortex Aquatic Structures International, and
claiming that specifically(implying that only) their slides "help kids graduate from toddler rides to the real deal"and "offer just the right level of thrills"is advocacy. The way this differs from the examples you provided is the ProSlide Tornado and Aqualoop are both original concepts, while Vortex Aquatic Structures International did not invent body slides for kids. I do believe adding a mention of kids' slides could benefit the article, but if this company were to be mentioned, it should be after the description of kids' slides giving a notable example of their work on them. Thank you for reaching out. Kolventra (talk) 07:54, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello, thanks for your edit there, but I removed your citation as it got its text from Wikipedia. Graham87 (talk) 03:37, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- This doesn't surprise me as the article did look suspiciously like a Wikipedia article, but when I was researching the source I couldn't find any further evidence that was the case. Could you explain how you found out it was a circular source? Kolventra (talk) 13:57, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- I will avoid sources with overall phrasing that's very similar to the current Wikipedia page and articles that were published after the information was in Wikipedia with no additional sourcing. Kolventra (talk) 15:17, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
